| 12/10/2012 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Clarify the plumbing code to be used for this activity. Notes on sheet P1.1 refer to both the 2006 IPC and to the 2006 UPC. This review has been made using the 2006 IPC. 2. Verify the size of the existing water meter - until very recently, Tucson Water has installed 5/8" meters, not ¾" meters. 3. Provide material standards (e.g. NSF) for all plumbing fixtures being provided by others. Reference: Section 303.4, IPC 2006. 4. Provide an indirect connection for the sanitizing compartment of the 3-compartment sink with a direct waste connection for the wash and rinse sections of the 3-compartment sink. Reference: Section 802.1, IPC 2006. 5. Equipment (e.g. evaporative coolers) discharging non-potable clear-water waste to the building drainage system shall discharge to an indirect waste receptor via an air gap or an air break. Reference: Section 802.1.5, IPC 2006. 6. Show how the flow control device can be installed below the floor level with ready access (defined as being able "to be directly reached without requiring the removal or movement of any panel, door or similar obstruction") and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Reference: Sections 202 and 1003.3.5, IPC 2006. 7. Provide sizing information for the roof scuppers. Reference: Sections 1106 and 1107.3, IPC 2006. |
| 12/10/2012 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Correct the outside air calculations. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IMC 2006. 2. Show how the specified unit heaters are capable of maintaining a minimum temperature of 68 F in the interior spaces intended for occupancy on a design heating day (32 F). Reference: Sections 309.1 and 312.1, IMC 2006. 3. Note 1.11 on sheet indicates that the walls behind the proposed hood are of frame construction. Per Section 507.9, IMC 2006, this construction does not qualify as non-combustible due to the wood studs. Show how the hood installation will be revised to comply with the requirements of Section 507.9, IMC 2006 for clearances. 4. Coordinate the required exhaust flow rate for the Type I hood as shown in the Exhaust Hood Schedule with the Exhaust Hood Calculations and the Exhaust Fan Schedule. (Note that the statement, "Factory-built commercial exhaust hoods which are tested in accordance with UL 710…do not have to comply with 507" is only partially correct.) Reference: Sections 106.3.1 and 507.1, exception 1, IMC 2006. |
