11/02/2012 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Clarify the plumbing code to be used for this activity. The plumbing notes on sheet MP3 refer to the 2006 UPC but the Code analysis on sheet A0 refers to the 2006 IPC. This review has been made using the 2006 UPC.
2. Sinks used for food handling or sanitizing purposes shall have indirect wastes that comply with the requirements of Section 801.2, UPC 2006. All other sinks shall be directly wasted (e.g. hand sinks).
3. The maximum length of the horizontal section of a vent (e.g. vent for floor sink serving KEQ-2A) may not exceed one-third of the total allowable vent length noted in Table 7-5, UPC 2006.
4. Provide structural justification for the use of a horizontal vent (i.e. a "flat vent") that does not rise vertically to a minimum of 6" above the flood rim of a fixture before it offsets horizontally (e.g. vent for floor sink serving KEQ-2A). Reference: Section 905.3, UPC 2006.
5. A vented trap is required for all fixtures discharging into a grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1014.1.2, UPC 2006.
