The plumbing plan indicates an existing 3" waste line but the schedule implies a 2" waste line and cleanout. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
2. Provide structural calculations for the mounting shelf for the water heater to show that the water heater is safely supported. Reference: Sections 310.0 and 314.5, UPC 2006.
3. Provide a watertight pan of corrosion-resistant material under the water heater with a drain to an approved location. Reference: Section 508.4, UPC 2006.
4. Appliances (e.g. espresso machines, coffee brewers, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Table 6-3, UPC 2006 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 602.3, 603.0, and Table 6-2, UPC 2006.
