Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006.
2. Revise the size of the grease duct for the Type I hood to provide a minimum velocity of 1500 feet per minute. Reference: Section 506.3.4, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson.
3. If the proposed Type I hood is not a factory-built hood, listed and labeled as complying with UL 710, provide construction details for the hood and revise the air flow of the hood to comply with the requirements of Section 507.13.3, IMC 2006. Reference: Section 507.1, IMC 2006.
4. Provide information to show that the operation of the Type I hood and the hood exhaust fan complies with Section 507.2.1.1, IMC 2006.
5. Provide the installed weight of the Type I hood along with structural calculations and details to show that the Type I hood and its associated exhaust fan is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2006. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2006.
6. Show that the hood installation complies with Section 507.9, IMC 2006 for clearances (e.g. 18" clearance to combustibles such as cabinets, and with a smooth, cleanable, non-absorbent, and non-combustible material installed between the hood and the wall, and extending 18" beyond the hood).
7. Provide adequate make up air for the kitchen exhaust hood. Show that the unit supplying make up air for the kitchen hood is electrically interlocked to the exhaust fan. Reference: Section 508.1, IMC 2006.
