08/21/2012 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Denied This building appears to be receiving water service from an existing 3" water service pipe. The site utility drawing (C4.0) shows a new 3" water service connecting to an existing water service pipe near the southeast corner of the library but the drawing does not show the portion of the site where the cafeteria building is located. If this building is not ultimately being served by the new 3" meter, indicate its source of water, including the size of the meter and the size and type of backflow preventer.
08/21/2012 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Verify the gas input for water heaters WHR-K-1 and WHR-K-2; on sheet P2.3.2 they are shown as having inputs of 150 MBH each but they are scheduled with 199.999 MBH on sheets P3.0 and P4.2. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IFGC 2006.
2. Clarify the scale of the plumbing plan on sheets P2.3.1 and P2.3.2; they are noted as ΒΌ" to 1'-0" and appear to be that scale but the bar scales indicate 1/8" to 1'-0".
3. Designing a water distribution system solely based upon water velocity can result in inadequate water pressure or flow rates at the fixtures. Verify that the water pressure and flow rate to all of the fixtures and appliances are adequate. Reference: Sections 303.2, 604.1, and 604.3, IPC 2006.
4. Provide an indirect connection for the sanitizing compartment of the 3-compartment sink (#68) with a direct waste connection for the wash and rinse sections of the 3-compartment sink. One of the compartments does not appear to have a drain connection indicated. Reference: Section 802.1, IPC 2006.
5. Note that indirect waste piping that is greater than 2-feet in horizontal developed length or greater than 4-feet in total developed length shall be trapped. Reference: Section 802.2, IPC 2006.
6. Verify that all of the vents rise vertically to at least 6" above the flood rims of the fixtures they protect prior to running horizontally (except for vents located outdoors). Reference: Section 905.4, IPC 2006.
7. Provide protection of the trap seals for all floor drains subject to infrequent use. Elastomeric devices designed to physically seal the trap and prevent loss of the water seal (e.g. Pro-vent Trap Guards, Sure Seal Trap Sealers, et al) are not approved for use in the City of Tucson. Reference: Sections 706.2 and 1002.4, IPC 2006.
