The International Plumbing Code, 2006, is the controlling code for this structure; R-2 residential occupancies are not within the scope of the International Residential Code. Reference: Section 101.2, IPC 2006. 3. Clarify the piping materials to be used for the water distribution piping. A note on P1.1 says that PEX is acceptable but notes on sheet P3.1 indicate that CPVC is to be used from the "SOV to within 60" of the water heater" and that PEX is not allowed. What material is allowed within 60" of the water heaters? If PEX will be allowed, provide size conversion information from the CPVC sizes shown on the drawing to the acceptable PEX sizes. Reference: Sections 604.1, 604.3, and 605.4, IPC 2006. 4. Indicate the materials to be used for the drain, waste, and vent piping. Reference: Section 702, IPC 2006. 5. Clarify the note on the first floor plumbing plan regarding the "alternate location" for the location of the connection of the building drain and the building sewer. How is the location of the connection of the building drain and the building sewer changing the size of the building sewer from 6" to 4" on the plumbing floor plan but not on the riser drawing? Note that the civil plans show all of the apartment buildings having 4" building sewers. 6. The water pressure calculations are based on a total fixture demand of 135 fixture units but the plumbing fixture schedule indicates a total of 145.6 fixture units for the building. Coordinate the two calculations. Reference: Sections 106.3.1 and 604.1, IPC 2006. 7. The water pressure calculations show a pressure drop of 2.8 PSI for a 1" water meter at a demand of 56 GPM. Provide the listing information for a 1" water meter, available through Tucson Water, which will have this pressure drop. 8.
