Water Treatment Plant

1. Last review of 7/11/2012, requested on item #1, to provide a grounding system for the the Main Service . To size the conductor and identify what the ground wire is to be connected to. Section 250.32 of the 2005 NEC requires any Seperate Building to have it's service grounded, any other Switchboard in an isolated building will require it's own grounding system.
2. Last review on item #4 requested the size of conductors and conduits going from Utility to Main Service, these would be 002P1,002P2,002P3,002P4,002P5 and 002P6. These conductors are not provided by the Utility, 3-phase conductors in commercial work are required to be run by the contractor according to the TEP SR construction Book.

08/31/2012 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. General Note 2 on sheet P-1 states that the 2006 UPC will be used for this activity but most of the design appears to still be based on the 2006 IPC and does not comply with all of the requirements of the 2006 UPC. [Original comment: State the plumbing code to be used for this activity. This review has been made using the 2006 IPC.]
2. The specified instantaneous water heater, EWH-1, does not limit the water temperature to 110 degrees Fahrenheit and cannot be utilized for the public lavatory. Note that by definition, "private" is, "…for the utilization by a family or an individual." [Original comment: Show how the temperature of the hot water supply to the public lavatories is controlled. Reference: Section 416.5, IPC 2006 and Section 504.3, IECC 2006.]
3. The UPC limits the slope of drain pipes smaller than 4" to ¼" per 12"; the IPC allows 3" drains to have a minimum slope of 1/8" per 12". [Original comment: Horizontal drainage piping shall be installed at a minimum slope in accordance with table 704.1, IPC 2006.]
4. The UPC requires upper terminal cleanouts on all horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks require cleanouts regardless of length). The IPC, however, requires cleanouts for all "horizontal drains"; horizontal drains receive the discharge from two or more fixtures. Reference: Section 707.4, UPC 2006. [Original comment: Provide cleanouts for all horizontal drains. Reference: Section 708.3.1, IPC 2006.]
5. The floor drain in the restroom and the floor drain in the storage room are downstream of the water closet. Combination waste and vent systems are designed to handle only clear and grey-water wastes so nothing downstream of the water closet can be a combination waste and vent system. Combination waste and vent systems under the 2006 IPC must have a dry vent somewhere in the system or be connected to a horizontal drain that is vented. [Original comment: Since fixtures other than floor drains, sinks, lavatories, and drinking fountains, are not permitted to be included in a combination waste and vent system, the floor drain in the restroom and the floor drain in the storage room are not part of a combination drain and waste system and they must be vented. Reference: Section 912.1, IPC 2006.]
