The City of Tucson has adopted a new Outdoor Lighting
Code, Ordinance # 10963 as of 2/07/2012. Can be found on the City Web page under Planning and Development Dept.
then Building Codes.
The lumen allowance per acre has changed under the different options, your calculation on Sheet ES2 appears to be a calculation using .667 of an acre for the calculation when this addition is actually a part of the whole site. Please review the new ordinance especially Section 102 concerning additions.

05/17/2012 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope; use the climate zone for Pima County < 4,000 feet (the Town of Pima is located in Graham County). Coordinate the construction and envelope components shown in the plans with those used for the calculations. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006.
2. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains. Reference: Section 307.2, IMC 2006 as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 814.0, UPC 2006.
3. Section 403.3, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson allows the use of the ASHRAE 62-1-2004 ventilation calculation procedure provided that the default occupant densities and combined outdoor air rates are used.
4. Revise the ASHRAE ventilation calculations to include an air distribution effectiveness (Ez) value of 0.8 (ceiling supply, ceiling return, warm air greater than 15 degrees Fahrenheit above space temperature). Reference: Section 6.2.2.2, ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004.
05/21/2012 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Clarify the size of the low pressure gas pipe serving the cooking equipment. A note on the gas piping schematic (P2.2) calls for a "1-1/4" main from regulator"; but that section of pipe is called out as 1" on both the gas piping schematic and the mechanical roof plan (M1.4). Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
2. Provide a reduced pressure principle backflow preventer (ASSE 1013) for protecting the water supply to a carbonator. Reference: Section 603.4.12, UPC 2006.
3. Provide pressure-absorbing devices for the water connections to appliances equipped with quick-acting or solenoid valves (e.g. flush valves. Reference: Section 609.10, UPC 2006.
4. Correct the Waste Pipe Sizing chart on sheet P1.2: McDonald's is an A3 (assembly) occupancy and as such there are 6.0 drainage fixture units for a flush valve water closet and 5.0 drainage fixture units for a urinal. Reference: Table 7-3, UPC 2006.
5. Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks require cleanouts regardless of length). Reference: Section 707.4, UPC 2006.
6. Provide a cleanout in the building sewer downstream of the gravity grease interceptor. Reference: Section 719.1, UPC 2006.
7. Provide a direct waste connection for the wash and rinse sections of the 3-compartment sink, with an indirect connection for the sanitizing compartment only. Reference: Sections 304.0, 704.3, and 801.2.3, UPC 2006.
8. Proset Trap Guards are not approved for use as the sole method for protecting the seal of infrequently-used traps. Provide protection of the trap seals for all floor drains subject to infrequent use. Reference: Sections 1007.0 and 1007.1, UPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson.
9. Provide a vent for each fixture trap. Reference: Sections 901.0 and 910.1, UPC 2006.
10. Revise the vents for the gravity grease interceptor. Each vent pipe shall rise vertically to a minimum of 6" above the flood-level rim of the interceptor before connecting to any other vent. Reference: Section 905.3, UPC 2006.
11. Show the size and slope of the horizontal rainwater pipes on the plans. Clarify the configuration of the roof drain and overflow leaders located at the northeast corner of the building. Reference: Section 1106.2, UPC 2006.
