05/31/2012 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. A demand flow of 40 GPM through a 1" water meter results in an excessive pressure drop and a velocity greater than the maximum 8 FPS allowed for either plastic or copper piping. In addition, Tucson Water limits the 1" meter to a maximum demand of 25 GPM. Reference: Table 604.4 (c), IPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson.
2. Provide information to show how the proposed water heater shelf is to be connected to the building structure. Reference: Sections 106.3.1 and 301.2, IPC 2006.
3. Provide approved water temperature-limiting devices for the lavatories conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Section 416.5, IPC 2006 and Section 504.3, IECC 2006.
4. Provide power for the water heater. Reference: Section 607.1, IPC 2006.
5. Provide a direct waste connection for the wash and rinse sections of the 3-compartment sink, with an indirect connection for the sanitizing compartment only. Reference: Section 802.1, IPC 2006.
6. Indirect waste piping that is greater than 2-feet in horizontal developed length or greater than 4-feet in total developed length shall be trapped. Reference: Section 802.2, IPC 2006.
7. Verify that the revised building drain from the kitchen area will drain through the existing grease interceptor and that the existing water closets are not draining through the grease interceptor. Reference: Sections 1003.2 and 1003.3.1, IPC 2006.
8. Verify the type of grease interceptor that is currently in place. If the existing grease interceptor requires the installation of a flow control device for proper operation, show how this will be accomplished. Reference: Sections 106.3.1, 303.2, and 1003.3.4.2, IPC 2006.
