| 03/28/2012 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Section R4-30-304 of the Rules of the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, states that a notation shall be placed beneath the seal, either written, typed, or electronically generated, that provides the day, month, and year of the expiration of current registration. (Effective March 8, 2008). 2. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum height of 3/32-inch (see the EM and R drawings). Reference: Section 106.1.1, IBC 2006. 3. Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope; use the climate zone for Pima County < 4,000 feet (not Oro Valley). Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006. 4. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains. Reference: Section 307.2, IMC 2006 as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 814.0, UPC 2006. 5. Section 403.3, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson allows the use of the ASHRAE 62-1-2004 ventilation calculation procedure provided that the default occupant densities are used. 6. Show how the refrigeration penthouse complies with the ventilation requirements of Section 1105.6, IMC 2006. |
| 03/29/2012 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Section R4-30-304 of the Rules of the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, states that a notation shall be placed beneath the seal, either written, typed, or electronically generated, that provides the day, month, and year of the expiration of current registration. (Effective March 8, 2008). 2. Reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies are required to be installed in locations accessible to Tucson Water, immediately downstream of the water meter. Reference: Chapter XXVII, Article V, Section 27-72, the Tucson Code, http://cms3.tucsonaz.gov/sites/default/files/water/docs/backflow-ordinance.pdf 3. Clarify the specification for EWH-1; the model number in the schedule is not shown on the Eemax website and they don't appear to make any storage-type water heaters. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IPC 2006. 4. Provide a specification for EWH-2. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IPC 2006. 5. Provide water pressure and water pipe sizing calculations. Reference: Section 604.1, IPC 2006. 6. Provide a direct waste connection for the eyewashes. Reference: Section 802.1, IPC 2006. 7. Revise detail 7/M5.2 for the hub drains to show that they meet the installation requirements of Section 802.3.2, IPC 2006 for extending at least 1" above a water-impervious floor. 8. Limit the fixture branches in the combination waste and vent system to the lengths shown in Table 906.1, IPC 2006. Reference: Section 912.2.4, IPC 2006. 9. Clarify the size of the branch drains as shown on the combination waste and vent riser diagram; detail 1/M5.2 calls for the trap and branch line to be two pipe sizes larger than the fixture tail piece but the fixture branches are all shown as being 3" and the tail pieces of the floor drains, trenches, and floor sinks are all scheduled as being 3". Reference: Section 106.3.1, IPC 2006. 10. Coordinate the combination waste and vent riser diagram with the plumbing plan. The plumbing plan shows a 3" VTR for each of the three hub drains (labeled "HB" on the diagram?) located next to the freezer but no such vents are shown on the riser diagram. Also, on the plumbing plan, the fixture branch of the floor sink from the coffee station joins the 4" branch of the combination waste and vent system prior to joining with the 6" branch of the combination waste and vent system. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IPC 2006. 11. Coordinate the sanitary riser diagram with the plumbing plan; the north branch of the sanitary system shows an additional floor cleanout on the plumbing plan that is not included in the riser diagram. In addition, the location of the 6" branch, labeled "OPD" on the riser diagram is not shown on the plumbing plan. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IPC 2006. 12. The installation of building traps is prohibited. Reference: Section 1002.6, IPC 2006. 13. Coordinate detail 11/M5.2 with the plumbing plan and riser diagram. The detail shows a hot water recirculation system being installed with water heaters DWH-1 and DWH-2 but no return hot water piping is shown on sheets M1.3 or M4.1. 14. Where does detail 13/M5.2 occur? Reference: Section 106.3.1, IPC 2006. |
