09/08/2011 | JOSE ORTIZ | DOT TRAFFIC | REVIEW | Approv-Cond | September 8, 2011 ACTIVITY NUMBER: T11PI00004 PROJECT NAME: The District PROJECT ADDRESS: 550 N 5th Ave PROJECT REVIEWER: Jose E. Ortiz PE, Traffic Engineer Resubmittal Required: Traffic Engineering recommends a conditional approval of the PIA Plan; therefore a revised PIA Plan is required for re-submittal or an exchange of PDF drawings illustrating revisions is needed prior to the Mylar submittal. Illustrate the existing and future right of way as depicted in the request (through the City's Real Estate Division) for the vacation and sale of Sixth Street right of way at former Fifth Avenue. Provide dimensions on the development plan that callout the pedestrian area (edge of pavement to future right of way). The pedestrian area needs to account for the vacation and sale of Sixth Street right of way. A minimum 6' pedestrian clear area needs to be maintained. Transit had a request that the City maintain a minimum 9' wide by 50' long segment of right of way just west of Herbert Avenue to be used for the bus stop. This stop will be a major transfer point once the modern streetcar is up and running. This revision to the right of way needs to be illustrated on the development plan. The proposed pedestrian ramps on Herbert Avenue need to meet ADA requirements. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 791-4259 x76730 or Jose.Ortiz@tucsonaz.gov |
