9. Please provide a large scale detail of all the interior ramps showing all accessibility requirements as per ICC/ANSI 117.1, Sections 405, and 505; i.e. dimensions, slopes, handrails, landing and clearances.
a. Please provide a handrail elevation showing compliance with ICC/ANSI 117.1, Section 405 and 505.
RESUBMITTAL COMMENT:
SHEET A1.1:
A. The east interior is incomplete
B. Doors 28, 29 and the opposite side pair with no numbers need to swing inward as per detail A1/A1.1A. Insure all floor plans show this door function.
C. At west interior ramp, show handrail return at top landing. Move the door if necessary.
SHEET A1.1
A. Finish all interior ramps as commented above and delete the out swinging doors as discussed above.

10. At detail A4,
a. Please identify the required exits and show the number of occupants exiting at each exit.
b. If all the required exits are located at the front of the building as proposed by the A4 plan, the common path of travel required for both sleeping unit building wings are in excess of what is allow by the 2006 IBC, Section 1014.3 of 75'-0".
c. The front entrance and exit double doors should be the new double doors number 1 provided on the new front addition not the new double doors number 2 as shown in your separation dimensions.
RESUBMITTAL COMMENT:
Refer to SHEET A1.1BC
A. Swing doors 28 and 29 plus like opposite side doors with no numbers inward as per detail A1/A1.1A
B. At west interior ramp, show handrail return at top landing. Move the door if necessary.
C. Provide North arrow for plan.
D. Identify all exits as per electrical plan exit signs.
E. Doors 206 and 203 are required exits but have no exit signs indicated ion electrical plan. This makes common path of travel in compliance. Please rectify.

12. At detail A4, insure an accessible route to the wrought iron gate with the electronic locking device.
RESUBMITTAL COMMENT:
Please provide slope compliance as per 403.3 and verify development standards use of DG with Zoning.

14. The following doors appear not to meet the clearance requirements of ICC/ANSI 117.1, Section 404.2.3.1. Please clarify: 4, 14, 17, 20, 22, 23B 24 and 75.
RESUBMITTAL COMMENTS
Doors 20, 21, 23B and 75 are non compliant with section 404.2.3.1 where a 12" minimum clearance is required on the push side of the strike jamb when the door has both a closer and a latch.

15. Public toilet 19 does not meet accessibility standards. Please do not identify it as being accessible.
RESUBMITTAL COMMENT:
Identifying a toilet as accessible is notification that the toilet meets today's code. Toilet 19 does not meet the current accessible code.

END OF REVIEW
02/29/2012 PAUL MACHADO ENGINEERING REVIEW Approved A 2nd restamp. JG originally stamped the plan, PM then restamped R1 therefor JG restamped the revision since there were no changes to the ENG plan set.
03/07/2012 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Comment not resolved; show the condensate drains for the six new AC-2 units. [Original comment: Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains for MS-1 and for the new AC-2 units. Reference: Section 307.2, IMC 2006 as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 814.0, UPC 2006.]
2. Comment not resolved; no calculations are shown on sheet M0.1 (sealed on 11/16/11, no revisions noted). [Original comment: Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation. Reference: Section 401.2, IMC 2006.]
03/07/2012 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Denied Comment not resolved; Tucson Water utilizes the water fixture units and demand chart from the Uniform Plumbing Code to determine the water meter sizes. Contact Tucson Water to discuss the issue. [Original comment: Tucson Water limits a 1-1/2" meter to a maximum demand of 50 GPM; but when all of the existing fixtures and appliances are included in the water demand calculations, the demand on the water meter will be approximately 57 GPM. Provide a letter from Tucson Water confirming that the use of a 1-1/2" water meter will be allowed for this project. Reference: Sections 610.2 and 610.12, UPC 2006.]
03/08/2012 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide specifications for the shower valves and for the source temperature mixing valve shown in detail A3/P1.2. Reference: Sections 424.3, IPC 2006 and Section 504.3, IECC 2006. [Original comment: Show how the temperature of the hot water supply to the dwelling units is controlled. Reference: Section 413.1 and 418.0, UPC 2006 and Section 504.3, IECC 2006.]
2. The specified lower wall louver has an open area of only 51.8 square inches which is insufficient for a total input of 235 MBH (note that a note on sheet P1.0 shows the water heater having an input of 75 MBH but detail D1/M4.1 shows an input of 130 MBH for the same water heater). Reference: Sections 304.6.1 and 304.10, IFGC 2006. [Original comment: Show how combustion air openings are to be provided for the laundry room. Reference: Section 507, UPC 2006.]
3. Not all of the fixtures and appliances appear to be included in the demand calculation (e.g. the clothes washers and the hand sink) and the fixture units appear to be a combination of UPC fixture units and IPC fixture units. Correct the basis for the total water fixture units and use Table E103.3(3), IPC 2006 to determine the water demand. [Original comment: Include all fixtures and appliances (e.g. the clothes washers) when calculating the total water demand and determining pipe sizes. Reference: Section 610.1, UPC 2006.]
4. Revise the water pipe sizing calculations using the instructions in Section E201 and Table E201.1 (there is no table for 46-60 PSI in the IPC). See Table 604.3, IPC 2006; depending in the type of shower valve specified, the required minimum pressure may be greater than 8 PSI. In addition, verify with the manufacturer, what the pressure drop across the reduced pressure backflow preventer will be - a pressure drop of 9 PSI is unusually low. [Original comment: Revise the water pressure calculations using the instructions in Section 610.8, UPC 2006 (e.g. include the pressure drop due to the reduced pressure backflow preventer and the static lift and the calculated length of the pipe). Note that a 1" meter with a 1" water service pipe is only good for 18 fixture units at 400 feet. Reference: Section 610.2, UPC 2006.]
5. Limit the water velocity to 8 fps for copper and PVC pipe. Reference: footnote c, Table 604.4, IPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. [Original comment: Limit the water velocity to less than 8 fps for the PVC and copper piping. Reference: Section A 6.1, UPC 2006; IAPMO IS 3-2000, Section 610.0; and IAPMO IS 8-95, Section 610.1.]
6. Revise detail 2/P1.1 to add a cleanout after the 90 degree ell upstream of the grease interceptor per Section 708.3.3, IPC 2006. (There is also a typographical error in that detail; a 2" drain line cannot be located downstream of a 3" cleanout.) [Original comment: Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks and urinals require cleanouts regardless of length). Reference: Section 707.4, UPC 2006.]
