This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this plan review includes architectural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and energy conservation. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2006 International Residential Code with local amendments. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Previous comment: Provide a minimum 2'8" panel on either side of the garage for alternate braced wall designs per R602.10.6 or specify another approved alternative. Figure R602.10.6.2 addresses the issue of minimal wall area next to window or door openings and allows for wall widths as small as 16" if the wall is constructed accordingly. Revise detail to reflect code approved design. OUTDOOR LIGHTING CODE: 2. Previous comment: Bulbs specified for flood lighting (unshielded) are rated at 1050 lumens each. Two fixtures with two bulbs each would be 4200 lumens which would exceed the lot allowance. Switches are not permitted to control junction boxes.
