1. At detail 1, maintain head clearance for the 2nd floor as required by the 2006 IBC, Section 1208.2
2. The wall section mark 2/A7 is in the wrong place.
SHEET A7
3. At detail 2:
a. The 9'-0" AFF dimension is not to scale or is referencing the wrong point of the second floor framing. It scales 9'-0" to the 2nd finished floor elevation.
b. Maintain a 2nd floor head clearance as required by the 2006 IBC, Section 1208.2.
SHEET A10
4. Details 4 and 5 do not represent the actual design as shown on details 1/A1 and 2/A11. Redraw to reflect actual toilet design layout and resubmit.
a. These toilets do not comply with current accessible code requirements.
SHEET S1
5. Provide special inspection certifications as outlined in paragraph note 12.
SHEET S2
6. The foundation plan does not show the existing slab and foundation work to remian at the front entry protrusion as per Demo Plan detail 1/D1. Please reconcile.
SHEET S3
7. The roof framing plan does not reflect the existing front entry protrusion framing and what to do with it, demo or work it in with the scheme.
8. The roof framing plan does not take into account the raised rafters at the new second story. Maintain a 2nd floor head clearance as required by the 2006 IBC, Section 1208.2.
9. Please provide a letter of deferred submittal for the stairs to the building official, Mr. Ron Boose, for the purpose of assessment of additional plan review fees.

11/03/2011 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Show the size of the new drainage pipes for the hand sinks, P-3, the floor drains, P-4, and for the floor sinks, P-5. The minimum size drain for a sink (P-3) is 2". Reference: Table 7-3, UPC 2006.
2. Clarify the trap and trap arm configurations for the directly-connected compartments of the two 3-compartment sinks. Sink 428A shows two traps on one trap arm and sink 434A shows one trap arm connected to the trap of the adjacent compartment. Reference: Section 1001.1, UPC 2006.
3. Provide a sediment trap for the gas supply as close to the water heater as possible. Reference: Section 1212.7, UPC 2006.
4. Clarify the design of the primary roof drains. On the roof plan on sheet A-4 it appears as if a small scupper is used to reach the 4" downspout but detail 4/A-9 calls out a 10" wide primary scupper. The size of the primary and the emergency (overflow) scuppers should have equal capacities. Note that the calculations shown on sheet A-4 are incorrect; the roof drain sizes shown in Table 11-1 are the nominal pipe diameters required so the circumference of the roof drain is equal to the nominal pipe diameter times Pi. A scupper sized using the method shown in Section 1101.11.2.1, UPC 2006, for a 2" roof drain will be equal to 6.28" in width.
5. Clarify detail 1/P-3. The diagram indicates that the existing gas load is 423 CFH but the Gas Meter Load table implies the existing load has been reduced to 373 CFH.
11/04/2011 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. The equipment schedule (K-5) indicates that oven 535 is being reinstalled; where is it located?
2. Provide structural calculations and details to show that the Type I hood is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2006. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2006.
3. Provide information to show that the operation of the Type I hood and the hood exhaust fan complies with Section 507.2.1.1, IMC 2006 (i.e. the exhaust fan automatically starts when cooking commences).
4. Section 507.2.2, IMC 2006, exception 3, allows the installation of a "single light-duty electric convection, bread, retherm, or microwave oven" without the requirement of installing a Type II hood. Provide justification for not installing a Type II hood over the two proofing ovens (equipment number 520).
5. Hood canopies shall extend at least 6" horizontally on all open sides beyond the edge of the top horizontal surface of the appliances under the hood. Reference: Section 507.12, IMC 2006.
6. Detail 2/A-1 indicates that the partition adjacent to the proposed Type I hood may have wood furring. The zero-clearance exception in Section 507.9, IMC 2006 does not allow for the use of combustibles in the walls; Metal furring will be allowable.
