Plan review for the above referenced structure has been completed. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken.

SCOPE OF REVIEW:
The scope of this plan review includes architectural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and energy conservation. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2006 International Residential Code with local amendments. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Specify overall dimensions of proposed walk deck.

FLOOR PLAN:
2. Provide sufficient emergency escape/rescue openings from sleeping rooms, R310. Minimum clear opening = 24" high x 20" wide.
3. Show the location of attic access min. 22"x30", R807.

STRUCTURAL / FRAMING PLAN:
4. Specify weather rated deck covering for exterior walk deck. CDX plywood is not intended for direct weather exposure.

MECHANICAL PLAN:
5. Provide a mechanical equipment specification list, M1302.1.
6. Show supply and return air ducts with a minimum R-8 insulation when located outside the thermal envelope, R1103.2.1.

PLUMBING PLAN:
7. Provide a gas appliance demand schedule with total developed length of gas supply system G2413.1, Table G2413.4 (1).
8. Specify intended access to waste clean out under exterior walk deck, P3005.2.
9. Provide note requiring that water hammer arrestor be installed in accordance with ASSE 1010-2004 on water lines serving appliances equipped with quick-closing valves to include but not limited to clothes washers, IRC P2903.5.
10. Specify water conservation requirements: Water closets = 1.6 gallons per flush, Sinks = 2.2 gpm, Showerheads = 2.5 gpm, P2903.2.
11. Shower and tub/shower combinations that have individual control valves shall be of the pressure balance or thermostatic mixing valve type.

ELECTRICAL PLAN:
12. Specify bond to fuel gas piping, E3509.7.
13. Bedroom outlets shall be protected with combination-type arc-fault breakers (to include receptacles, lights, and smoke detectors), E3802.12.
14. Show air conditioning unit on electrical plan with appropriate disconnect.

INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE:
15. Show compliance to the energy efficiency requirements for exterior masonry walls, N1102.1. Mass wall requirement is R=4 when 50% of insulation is exterior and R=6 when applied interior.
