10/13/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Clarify under which plumbing code this building has been designed. Sheet TD-2 calls for the 2006 IPC but sheet P-1 states that the 2006 UPC has been used. This review is based on the 2006 UPC. 2. Coordinate the domestic water service entrance location with the civil drawings; the civil drawings show the water entering at the southwest corner of the building, not the southeast corner of the building. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 3. Provide calculations showing how the water supply piping has been sized. (According to Tucson Water, the water pressure range for this address is 44-51 PSI.) Reference: Sections 610.4 and 610.5, UPC 2006. 4. Show the installation of the backwater valve required by keynote 49 on civil drawing number 2 of 6. Reference: Section 710.1 UPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 5. Provide vent piping of sufficient size to comply with Section 904.1, UPC 2006. Vents located upstream from pumps, ejectors, backwater valves, or other devices that obstruct the free flow of gases between the building sewer and the outside atmosphere shall not be used for meeting the required cross-sectional vent area. 6. Each vent pipe shall rise vertically to a minimum of six (6) inches above the roof and shall not be less than twelve (12) inches from any vertical surface. Reference: Section 906.1, UPC 2006. |
10/13/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Revise the energy code analysis for the building envelope, coordinating the building components used in the analysis with those shown on the drawing (the roof insulation shown on sheet A3-D is cavity insulation, not continuous insulation). Reference: Section 502, IECC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 2. Clarify the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans. The fan schedule calls for continuous operation but the HVAC specification calls for the fans to be switched with the restroom lights. The fans shall operate so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms is exhausted. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2006. 3. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation. Reference: Section 403.3, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. |
