Reference: Chapter 27, Article V, Section 27-76 (a), Tucson Code, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/water/docs/backflow-ord.pdf Plumbing Comments: 1. See waste and vent piping riser diagram, sheet MP-2. Three inch branch from main, reducing to one and one half inches at the floor, for the dispensary sink. Reference: Table 7-5, 2006 UPC. Minimum size waste for a sink is two inch. Reference: Section 707.4, exception one, 2006 UPC. A horizontal branch from the main feeding a sink requires a cleanout. See: waste and vent piping riser diagram, sheet MP-2. Horizontal branch from the main over five feet in length requires a cleanout. Diagram shows three inch under the slab, but the above grade piping for the two shampoo bowls is unclear. Include the size of the drainage piping for the two shampoo bowls, and the wall cleanout. 2. See: plumbing plan MP-1. Connections to existing water piping. Provide water calculations showing how existing ¾-inch cold water supply will feed the new water fixture supply demand. Clarify the proposed connection to an existing ½-inch hot water supply. 3. Provide the minimum plumbing facilities required by Table 2902.1 and Section 2902.2, IBC 2006, for a business occupancy (i.e. a drinking fountain). See also, Section 1109.5.1, IBC 2006. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2006. 2. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drain for the new rooftop unit, RTU-2. Reference: Section 307.2, IMC 2006 as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 814.0, UPC 2006. 3. Revise the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2006. 4. Revise the ventilation calculations, matching the occupation classifications from Table 403.3, IMC 2006 with the occupancy descriptions shown on the drawing (e.g. beauty salon, with 25 CFM per person and 25 people per 1,000 square feet). Reference: Sections 403.3 and 403.3.2, IMC 2006. 5. Provide calculations to show that the common ventilation system is sized in accordance with Section 403.3.2, IMC 2006. 6. The roof framing and roof deck of the shell building are constructed of wood. Materials exposed in plenums shall conform to Section 602.2.1, IMC 2006. |
