The roof currently has only three existing A/C units, not five existing units as shown on sheet A.5; the three units are not located as shown and they each have an installed weight of 2200 pounds, not 1800 pounds. The units were recently replaced with a final inspection on 10/17/2011. [Original comment: Provide structural calculations to verify that the existing roof is capable of supporting the additional dead load due to the installation of the new and replacement equipment on the roof. 2. Comment not resolved. Section 411.4, UPC 2006 states that the "Floors shall be sloped to floor drains"; it does not say that only part of the floors need to be sloped. [Original comment: Show that the restroom floors slope toward the floor drains. Reference: Section 411.2, UPC 2006.]
3. Comment not resolved; revise the branch piping to the urinals to limit the water velocity to 8 FPS. [Original comment: Clarify the type of urinal that is to be installed. The plumbing fixture schedule on sheet p.1 calls out a waterless urinal but the drainage fixture units calculation on sheet P.1, the water fixture units calculation on sheet P-3, and the water riser diagram also located on sheet P-3 all indicate a urinal equipped with a 1-GPF flush valve. If the urinals do have flush valves, the ¾" branch piping sizes called out will result in water velocities greater than 8 FPS. Limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for the copper piping. Reference: Sections 103.2.3, 610.12 and A 6.1, UPC 2006 and IS 3-2003, Section 2.6.]
4. Comment not resolved; a Watts model 909 is listed under ASSE 1013 (acceptable for carbonated beverage dispensers by the City of Tucson), a dual check valve with an intermediate atmospheric vent (ASSE 1012) is acceptable for most other appliances. [Original comment: Appliances (e.g. ovens, ice makers, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Table 6-3, UPC 2006 require backflow prevention. The water riser diagram on sheet P-3 calls for vacuum breakers at each water connection; specify the type of vacuum breaker to be installed and any mounting requirements for the vacuum breakers. Soda dispensers require the use of a reduced backflow prevention assembly. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. 5. Comment not resolved; the floor sink in the water heater room, and the hand sinks with horizontal drainage pipes require cleanouts. [Original comment: Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks and urinals require cleanouts regardless of length). Reference: Section 707.4, UPC 2006.]
6. Revise the design for the back-to-back hand sinks. If the trap arms do not enter the vertical waste pipe at the same level (Section 704.2, UPC 2006), the size of the vertical waste pipe shall comply with the requirements of Section 908.2, UPC 2006.
7. Verify the size of the gas header serving the main cook line, the branch lines to the fryers, the main line to the griddle and char-broiler, and the gas line between RTU-1 and RTU-2. Reference: Section 402.3, IFGC 2006.
