2. The maximum flow rates for plumbing fixtures shall be consistent with ARS Title 45, Chapter 1, Article 12, 45-313. (See text at: http://www.azleg.state.az.us/ArizonaRevisedStatutes.asp). In addition, accessible metering faucets shall remain open for a minimum of 10 seconds. Reference: Section 402.1, UPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-2003.
3. Show how the building sewer (including the combination waste and vent system and the grease waste) connects to the public sewer system. Reference: Section 305.0, UPC 2006.
4. Provide information to show that the hub drains comply with Sections 411.1 and 804.1, UPC 2006.
5. Show that the restroom floors slope toward the floor drains. Reference: Section 411.2, UPC 2006.
6. Provide a floor drain in the kitchen near the 3-compartment sinks. Reference: Sections 411.2.2 and 704.3, UPC 2006.
7. Specify the thermostatic mixing valve shown in the water heater installation schematic. Reference: Sections 103.2.3 and 413.1, UPC 2006 and Section 504.3, IECC 2006.
8. The specified water heater is equipped with an 8" diameter draft hood. Revise the size of the double-wall flue to have a minimum effective area equal to the area of the draft hood outlet. Reference: Section 510.5.3, UPC 2006.
9. Clarify the type of urinal that is to be installed. The plumbing fixture schedule on sheet p.1 calls out a waterless urinal but the drainage fixture units calculation on sheet P.1, the water fixture units calculation on sheet P-3, and the water riser diagram also located on sheet P-3 all indicate a urinal equipped with a 1-GPF flush valve. If the urinals do have flush valves, the ¾" branch piping sizes called out will result in water velocities greater than 8 FPS. Limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for the copper piping. Reference: Sections 103.2.3, 610.12 and A 6.1, UPC 2006 and IS 3-2003, Section 2.6.
10. Provide direct waste connections for the wash and rinse sections of the 3-compartment sinks, with indirect connections for the sanitizing compartments only. Reference: Sections 304.0, 704.3, and 801.2.3, UPC 2006.
11. Appliances (e.g. ovens, ice makers, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Table 6-3, UPC 2006 require backflow prevention. The water riser diagram on sheet P-3 calls for vacuum breakers at each water connection; specify the type of vacuum breaker to be installed and any mounting requirements for the vacuum breakers. Soda dispensers require the use of a reduced backflow prevention assembly. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 602.3, 603.0, and Table 6-2, UPC 2006.
12. Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks and urinals require cleanouts regardless of length). Reference: Section 707.4, UPC 2006.
13. Clarify the size of the west vent for the combination waste and vent system; it appears to have two size labels on sheet P-2. Reference: Sections 103.2.3 and 910.3, UPC 2006.
14. A vent connection for a combination waste and vent system shall be located downstream of the uppermost fixture. Reference: Section 910.3, UPC 2006.
15. Provide an accessible cleanout in the vent for the floor drain in the decoration area. Reference: Section 910.6, UPC 2006.
16. Clarify the size of the gas pipe located downstream of the pressure regulator serving the cook line and water heater; 1746 CFH at 50 feet developed length. Reference: Section 402.3, IFGC 2006.
17. Verify the size of the gas pipe located downstream of RTU-3, prior to the branches serving RTU-4 and RTU-5; 520 CFH at 150 feet developed length. Reference: Section 402.3, IFGC 2006.
18. Provide a sediment trap for the gas connection to the water heater. Reference: Section 1212.7, UPC 2006.
19. Provide an automatic fuel shutoff valve for the gas-fired convection oven located under the Type I hood in the cake bar. Reference: Section 904.11.2, IFC 2006.
