City of Tucson Streetcar Project,
City of Tucson Streetcar Wash and Storage

1. Response to item #1 on last review, "GLHN does not have the specifications" for the 13.8KW EUSERC Switchgear. Was pre -purchased under COT Planset #N-2009-001G Special System Work Package. However the Switchgear is included on this set of drawings. Still requesting specification information on this Switchgear.
2. Response to item #2 of last review indicates a keynote #36 has been added to Sheet E4.1, this has not been added.
3. Response to item #4 of last review, "there not being sufficient information to review OSC System, either notate on plan it is to be permitted individually or provide sufficient information", only refers to a note on Sheet E1.1" Project General Notes" , that OCS System is a separete system and not part of this COT Planset. Considerable equipment is shown on these drawings concerning the OCS system. Please remove all information regarding the OCS system and associated equipment from this plan as this confuses what is to be permitted and inspected under this permit.
4. Response to item #5 last review, "the TPSS A3 building ia a pre manufactured structure/building with electrical equipment", since no significant response can be made to any listing or approval being provided from a third party listing agency or The State of Arizona Manufactured Building Department, or any further information I am unable to review for approval of this structure on the drawing.

10/12/2011 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied Comment not resolved; provide the energy calculations based on the data now shown on sheet M6.0.3. [Original comment: Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope using the climate zone for Pima County < 4,000 feet (see also sheet M6.0.3; the town of Pima is located in Graham County). Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006.]
10/13/2011 RONALD BROWN BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. No deferred submittal letter included with this resubmittal package. Please submit letter to the building official, Mr. Ron Boose.
SHEET G0.04
2. At the Applicable Code legend, please specify the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design as opposed to the ADAAG 2004. The ADAAG 2004 was never approved as a stand alone accessible guideline. In combination with the 28 CFR Part 35.151, together, they make up the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design as the latest DOJ approved accessible standards.
SHEET G0.06
3. After a cursory review, several inconsistencies were found in the duplication details on this sheet and with the requirements of the 2010 ADASAD:
a. Detail 12, a parallel approach is for children only. Reference 602.2 Exception.
b. You include several details that are duplicative such as the toilet elevations that are not consistent: detail 19 and detail 5. 2010 ADASAD requires grab bars to be as per detail 5, not 6" off the side wall.
c. Vertical grab bars as shown in detail 19 are not allowed in the 2010 ADASAD.
d. At detail 1, the seat width dimension should be to the surface of the wall.
e. At detail 7, the 36" min lavatory dimensions should be 30" min as per figure 608.2.2.
SHEET A5.1
4. Because of the inconsistencies and non-compliance details shown on Sheet G0.06, please provide all the toilet accessible requirements as per 2010 ADASAD on the actual toilet elevations shown on Sheet A5.1.
a. Please provide a section detail through the counter top mounted lavatory showing all accessible requirements as per the 2010 ADA Standrards, Sections 606 and 306.

10/14/2011 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Section 506.4.2, UPC 2006 requires that the pressure of the heat transfer medium be limited to maximum 30 PSIG through the use of an approve pressure relief valve; the specifications and details do not appear to show this. [Original comment: Provide specifications to show how the proposed solar water storage tank and the heat exchangers within the tank comply with the requirements for indirect water heaters and protection of the potable water system. Reference: Sections 506.4 and 603.4.4.1, UPC 2006.]
2. Provide calculations to show that the scheduled 2-gallon thermal expansion tank, ET-3 is correctly sized for the 250-gallon solar water storage tank and DHW system. [Original comment: Provide the specifications for the expansion tank for the domestic hot water system, ET-3, as noted on sheet M6.1.2. Reference: Sections 103.2.3 and 608.3, UPC 2006.]
3. The riser diagram appears to show 1" branch piping for the water closets. A flow rate of 24 GPM in a 1" type L copper pipe is approximately 9.3 FPS. Revise the size of the branch piping to reduce the velocity to less than 8 FPS. [Original comment: The branch piping sizes shown for the flush valve-water closets will result in water velocities greater than 8 FPS (1.6 GPF in 4 seconds = 24 GPM). Limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for the copper piping. Reference: Sections 610.12 and A 6.1, UPC 2006 and IS 3-2003, Section 2.6.]
4. Comment not resolved; the 2" vent for the acid neutralization tank has a horizontal length greater than 40-feet. [Original comment: Verify that the horizontal portions of the plumbing vents do not exceed 1/3 of the total allowable vent length shown in Table 7-5, UPC 2006.]
5. Comment not resolved; provide ventilation for the building sewer. [Original comment: Provide vent piping of sufficient size to comply with Section 904.1, UPC 2006. Vents located upstream from pumps, ejectors, backwater valves, or other devices that obstruct the free flow of gases between the building sewer and the outside atmosphere shall not be used for meeting the required cross-sectional vent area.]
