08/15/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Clarify and provide a design for the plumbing described in keynote 15, sheet A3.1, "Provide water supply and compensate drain connection through millwork." Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 2. Include sheet P3.1 in the drawing index on sheet A1.1. 3. Section 814.3, UPC 2006 allows air conditioning condensate drains to connect to the tailpiece of plumbing fixtures but detail 03/P3.1 shows the condensate connecting to the waste pipe downstream of an un-vented trap for a sink (and the note on sheet IT-M4.1 is similarly incorrect). Correct the detail to show a code-compliant installation. 4. Show how a vent is to be provided to the sink described in keynote 1, sheet P3.1. Reference: Section 901.1, UPC 2006. 5. Section R4-30-304 of the Rules of the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, states that a notation shall be placed beneath the seal, either written, typed, or electronically generated, that provides the day, month, and year of the expiration of current registration. (Effective March 8, 2008). |

08/15/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Section R4-30-304 of the Rules of the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, states that a notation shall be placed beneath the seal, either written, typed, or electronically generated, that provides the day, month, and year of the expiration of current registration. (Effective March 8, 2008). 2. The transfer duct (from room 111 to 112) penetrates a rate fire partition and cannot be equipped with a motorized damper. If control of the air flow in the duct is desired, a combination fire/smoke damper is required; provide a control design and sequence of operation for the fire/smoke damper that includes operation during a smoke or fire event. The fire/smoke damper shall be listed for use in a dynamic system. Reference: Sections 106.3.1, 607.2, 607.3, and 607.3.2.1, IMC 2006. 3. Clarify how room 111 is to be balanced. Approximately 1,000 CFM of hot exhaust air from the condenser coil of CRAC-1 (in room 112) is introduced into the room along with 225 CFM from the VAV system but there is no return grille in the room. Reference: Section 403.1, IMC 2006. |
