08/17/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | Comment not resolved; the revised design still shows 24 drainage fixture units on a combination drain and vent system that connects to a stack. Table 912.3, IPC 2006 clearly limits a 4" drain pipe to 20 drainage fixture units. In addition, you are showing two 2-dfu sinks connected to a 2" pipe that should be a 3" pipe in a combination drain and vent system that connects to a stack. [Second comment: Comment not resolved; the combination drain and vent system on the second floor connects to a stack, not to a building drain. Determine the maximum number of drainage fixture units for each branch using the first column of Table 912.3, IPC 2006. According to Table 912.3, a 3" pipe can accommodate 12 drainage fixture units, a 4" pipe can accommodate 20 drainage fixture units, and a 5" pipe is required for up to 160 drainage fixture units.] [Original comment: Revise the pipe sizes for the combination drain and vent systems shown in the second floor lab (west, detail 4/P2.0); horizontal branches shall be sized per Table 912.3, IPC 2006.] |
