Fault current calculations are required on the service and on through any equipment downstream untill brought to a level of 10,000amps or less. 3. The electrical service must be provided first in order to calculate downstream faults levels. 4. The permit for the service needs to be obtained first. 5. Provide information on the CP1 Panel arrangement, in the form of specification sheets. This equipment is required to be listed and approved as required per the NEC. 6. 05/17/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | WATER | REVIEW | Denied | Verify that the new water demand on the existing water supply system will not cause the existing 2" water meter to be overloaded. Tucson Water limits a 2" meter to a maximum demand of 80 GPM. Provide a letter from Tucson Water confirming that the use of a 2" water meter will be allowed for this project. Reference: Sections 101.5.1, 610.2 and 610.12, UPC 2006 (Note: there is a 2" reduced pressure backflow assembly located downstream of the water meter.) |
05/18/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide structural calculations for the mounting shelf to show that the water heater is safely supported. Reference: Sections 310.0 and 314.5, UPC 2006. 2. Provide information to show that the hub drain complies with Sections 411.1 and 804.1, UPC 2006. 3. Clarify how the floor drains located under the rear portion of the mini-rack ovens are readily accessible. Reference: Section 804.1, UPC 2006. 4. A double check valve is not acceptable for protecting the water supply to a carbonator. Reference: Section 603.4.12, UPC 2006. 5. Clarify the use of the 9D dual check valve for the mop sink faucet; i.e. what is the water supply being protected from? Reference: Sections 602.1 and 603.4.7, UPC 2006. 6. Appliances (e.g. chemical dispensers) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Table 6-3, UPC 2006 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 602.3, 603.0, and Table 6-2, UPC 2006. 7. Provide approved pressure-absorbing devices (e.g. water hammer arrestors) for the water connections to appliances equipped with quick-acting or solenoid valves. The field-fabricated air chambers implied in note 11, sheet P-2.4 are not approved. Reference: Section 609.10, UPC 2006. 8. Clarify the size of the branch piping for the flush valves. Limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for the copper piping. Reference: Sections 610.12 and A 6.1, UPC 2006 and IS 3-2003, Section 2.6. 9. Provide a direct waste connection for the wash and rinse sections of the 3-compartment sink, with an indirect connection for the sanitizing compartment only. Condensate drains may not terminate over a roof drain unless the roof drain terminates at or above grade in an area capable of absorbing the condensate flow without surface drainage. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 3. Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fan, EF-3, to show that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2006. 4. The occupant load used to calculate the required ventilation is not necessarily the same as the occupant load used for calculating exiting requirements. The occupant load used for calculating the minimum required ventilation is to be based on Table 403.3, IMC 2006 or an approved engineering analysis of the specific occupancy type (e.g. ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004 as modified by the City of Tucson amendments).
