05/31/2011 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied Comment not resolved. Revise the submitted energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope using the correct climate zone for Pima County < 4,000 feet (i.e. not Pima, Arizona, which is a small town Northwest of Safford in Graham County). Revise the component entries in the calculations to correspond with the drawings: the steel-stud exterior walls do not have continuous R-21 insulation, the structural engineer will be shocked to learn that the other walls are solid concrete instead of concrete masonry units, the CMU walls do not have continuous R-21 insulation, and the addition includes a roof. [Original comment: Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope (the correct climate zone is Pima County < 4,000 feet) and for the mechanical equipment. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006.]
