05/09/2011 | LEERAY HANLY | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | PREVIOUS COMMENT #5 Provide details on how dwelling units smoke detectors are to be interconnected (IBC 907.2.10.3) Detail provided on pp E-5.6 contradicts dwelling electrical plans which show the SD's on several different circuits. PREVIOUS COMMENT #10 Coordinate ckt # for units D-4 micro/hood with panel schedule. This is a minor matter, but panel schedule has the micro/hood on ckt 25 while electrical plan shows ckt 23. 23 is being used for the dryer. |
05/10/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. The occupant load used to calculate the required ventilation is not necessarily the same as the occupant load used for calculating exiting requirements. The occupant load used for calculating the minimum required ventilation is to be based on the default occupant density in Table 6-1, ASHRAE 62.1-2004 or an approved engineering analysis of the specific occupancy type. Reference: Section 403.3, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. [Original comment: Section 403.3, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson allows the use of the ASHRAE Standard 62-1-2004 ventilation calculation procedure provided that the default occupant densities and combined outdoor air rates are used. The 2007 edition of ASHRAE Standard 62.1 has not been adopted by the City of Tucson.] 2. Comment not resolved. The exhaust fan schedule indicates only 80 CFM is being exhausted from the men's restroom and 100 CFM is being exhausted from the women's restroom. At 70 CFM per water closet or urinal, both restrooms require at least 210 CFM of exhaust. [Original comment: Revise the exhaust rate for the men's restroom and the women's restroom in the clubhouse per the requirements of Table 6-4, ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004. Since the nature of the clubhouse can result in periods of heavy use, the exhaust rate shall be at least 70 CFM per water closet or urinal as stated in footnote D.] 3. Comment not resolved. The exhaust fan schedule indicates that the exhaust fans will be controlled by an occupancy sensor. The exhaust fans shall be sequenced to exhaust all of the air supplied to each restroom irrespective of the occupancy. [Original comment: Revise the sequence of operation for the clubhouse restroom exhaust fans so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2006.] |
