3. Each piece of equipment requiring backflow protection shall be independently protected. Reference: Sections 602.2 and 603.0, UPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson.
4. A dual check valve (a Watts SD-3is not listed for health hazards) is not acceptable for protecting the water supply to a carbonator; provide a reduced pressure principle backflow preventer. Reference: Section 603.4.12, UPC 2006.
5. Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks require cleanouts regardless of length). Reference: Section 707.4, UPC 2006.

10. Provide natural gas pipe sizing calculations. Include gas pressures and developed pipe lengths on plans. Verify that 5 PSIG gas is available for this activity. Reference: Section 1217.0, UPC 2006.
03/21/2011 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide supporting documentation for the assembly U-factors for the exterior walls and the roof (see footnote b in your submitted envelope compliance certificate). Reference: Section 104.2, IECC 2006.
2. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation. Section 403.3, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson allows the use of the ASHRAE 62-1-2004 ventilation calculation procedure provided that the default occupant densities and combined outdoor air rates are used. Reference: Section 403.3, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson.
3. Verify that the UPC/UPS room does not require ventilation per Section 502.4, IMC 2006.
4. Gas-fired convection ovens require a Type I hood; show how the convection oven located in the bakery complies with this requirement. Reference: Section 507.1, IMC 2006.
5. Section 507.2.2, IMC 2006, exception 3, allows the installation of a "single light-duty electric convection, bread, retherm, or microwave oven" without the requirement of installing a Type II hood. The Subway equipment plan indicates the installation of a light-duty bread oven, a microwave oven, and a rapid-cook oven. Determine which single appliance will not be located under a Type II hood.

The Electrical Plans have been denied for the following:

1. Indicate on Sheet E2.3 , that in the MSB Electrical Room, Per NEC 2005 110.26.C.2, "doors to be equipped with panic
bars,or other devices that are normally latched but open under simple pressure".
2. The distances for clearances between MSB Section 2 and Panel H1A1-1 and 2 appears to be just over 2 feet. Per 2005 NEC 110.26.A.1, 4 feet is required per condition 3.
3. The distance between MSB Section 3 and Panels H1A1-1 and 2 appears to be 2.5 feet, and requires 4 feet per 2005 NEC 110.26.A.1.
4. The Equipment Bonding Jumper on Sheet E-4 on the grounding electrode system needs to be sized per 2005 NEC 250.102.C.
