04/06/2015 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. The 2012 International Mechanical Code and the 2012 International Energy Compliance Code, with Local Amendments are the relevant codes for this project.
2. Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections C103.2 and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
3. Show how the "Additional Efficiency Package Requirements" noted in Section C406, IECC 2012 is to be accomplished. Reference: Section C401.2, IECC 2012.
4. Provide NFRC fenestration product ratings for the U-factor and the SHGC values on COMcheck or use the appropriate default U-factor and SHGC values from Tables C303.1.3 (1), C303.1.3 (2) and C303.1.3.(3), IECC 2012. Factory-manufactured windows are required to have certificates attesting to their compliance to NFRC Standards 100 and 200 and can be provided by the manufacturer or found at www.nfrc.org. For site assembled commercial products, the NFRC component modeling approach program enables commercial window manufacturers to produce bid reports to prove energy performance prior to being awarded a job and provide finalized label certificates once the product has been installed. Fenestration performance reports based on AAMA 507 are based on energy simulations only (no actual testing) and are not acceptable. Reference: Section C303.1.3, IECC 2012.
5. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Use the exterior design conditions shown in Section 302.2, IECC 2012, as modified by the City of Tucson. (Note that the specified 5KW heat strips are incapable of providing 22,000 BTUH as noted in the AC equipment schedule.) Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012.
6. Show that the proposed programmable thermostat for the HVAC system meets the control requirements of Section C403.2.4: set-point overlap restriction, automatic set-back and shut-down controls, automatic start capabilities, and shutoff damper controls. Reference: Section C303.1, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
7. Keynote 1 on sheet M-1 and further notes on sheet M-2 call for a fixed ladder for roof access; will this be installed? If not, remove these notes from the drawings. Reference: Section 306.5, IMC 2012.
8. Condensate drains may not terminate in an area that is not capable of absorbing the condensate flow without surface drainage. Verify that the condensate drains do not discharge onto a sidewalk. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
9. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation using the current code. Reference: Section 403.2, IMC 2012.
04/06/2015 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. The International Plumbing Code, 2012, is the controlling code for this activity. Reference: Section 101, IBC 2012.
2. Provide automatic faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
3. Provide tempered water for the restroom lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012.
4. Revise the water demand calculation using the IPC fixture unit values for public fixtures. Hose bibbs have a continuous demand and are to be assigned a GPM demand and added to the demand determined for the plumbing fixtures. Reference: Sections E102.1 and E103.3 (2.1), IPC 2012.
5. Provide calculations showing how the water supply piping has been sized. Reference: Sections 604.1 and 604.3, IPC 2012.
6. Verify that the pipe sizes called out will not result in water velocities greater than that recommended by the pipe manufacturer (e.g. limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for copper, PEX, or CPVC piping). Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2012.
7. Revise the water distribution riser diagram to coordinate with the piping layout shown on the plumbing plan. Each suite is to be provided with a main shutoff valve. Reference: Section 606.1, IPC 2012 and Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
8. Provide roof drainage and hydraulic scupper size calculations based on the 100-year hourly rainfall rate for Tucson, 3" per hour. Reference: Sections 1106.1, 1106.4, and 1108.3, IPC 2012.
9. Revise the roof drain calculations to include the effect of any vertical walls that can divert rainfall onto the roof. Reference: Section 1106.4, IPC 2012.
10. Provide secondary (overflow) roof drainage. Reference: Sections 1101, 1106 and 1108, IPC 2012, and Sections 1611.1 and 1611.3, IBC 2012.
04/07/2015 DAN SANTA CRUZ ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change Please address the following items for code compliance.
#1. Outdoor lighting color output temperature exceeds the max allowable 3500k per 402.1 Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code.
#2. Provide full compliance with the IECC for interior lighting.
#3. Indicate location and circuiting for the water heater on power plan.
#4. All new electrical service equipment to be fed underground per City of Tucson Policy, however a underground service waiver application may be obtained at 201 N. Stone.
