The subject project is adjacent to a critical facility hospital located within a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) Zone A as shown on the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), Community- Panel No. 04019C-2210K, effective date February 8, 1999. Engineering Division of Development Services Department does not recommend approval of the plans until the following comments are addressed. FLOODPLAIN USE PERMIT COMMENTS: 1) Tucson Code Sec.26-11.2(b)(5)b: Either provide one of the following: a) Submit a drainage report indicating base flood depth and regulatory flood elevation for elevated pad for generator and any other proposed utility units; or b) Show on the plan sheet xa1.1 pad elevation 2-ft above exiting grade for the proposed generator pad and any other proposed utility units (RFE NAVD88 = 2353.00). 2) Tucson Code Sec.26-11.2(h): An elevation certificate will be required and a preliminary document prepared by the City of Tucson will be provided at permit issuance. An Arizona registered land surveyor will be required to fill out the elevation certificate for the pad elevation prior to placing the generator, and submitted to PDSD for review. If the elevation certificate does not show sufficient elevation, the pad will need to be reconstructed for compliance. 3) DS Sec.2-02.2.1.A.16: Wall openings are indicated on the northeast corner of the wall enclosure. Clarify / provide additional wall openings on the west side of the wall structure for flood waters to flow into and through the enclosure area around the concrete pad. Resubmit plan package with, or without, drainage report as described above. Any additional future disturbance of the floodplain shall have separate floodplain use permit applications submitted to this office for review and approval.
