01/05/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Clarify the size of the water service to the new kitchen. The plumbing floor plan (1/P1.1) indicates a 1-1/4" water service but the plumbing site plan (2/P1.1) calls for a 1-1/2" water service. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 2. Detail 4/P2.1 calls for the water heater having a set point of 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Show how scald protection is to be provided. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 3. Include all fixtures and the water requirements of the HVAC equipment when calculating the total demand and determining pipe sizes. Reference: Section 610.1, UPC 2006. 4. Revise the submitted water pressure calculations using the minimum daily water pressure. Reference: Section A3.3, UPC 2006. 5. A demand flow of 98 GPM through a 2" water meter results in an excessive pressure drop and a velocity greater than the maximum 8 FPS allowed for either plastic or copper piping. Reference: Sections 610.2 and 610.12, UPC 2006. 6. Clarify the manufacturer and model of the hydromechanical grease interceptor to be installed; the plumbing plan calls for a Schier "Great Basin" unit but the Architectural plans call for a Dormont "WD-50" unit. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 7. The Schier "Great Basin" model GB-250 is listed as a gravity grease interceptor, ASME Standard A112.14.3. A gravity grease interceptor shall be sized per Table 10-3, UPC 2006 or the maximum drainage fixture units allowed for the size of the inlet pipe. Reference: Section 1014.3.6.1, UPC 2006. |
