11/22/2010 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide a complete plumbing plan, including water, waste and vent isometrics. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 2. Verify that the proposed water closets require a minimum pressure of only 15 PSI. Reference: Section 608.1, UPC 2006. 3. Clarify the size of the drain between the lavatory and the water closet in the women's restroom; it is noted as both 2" and 4" on sheet P1. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 4. Indirect waste receptors (e.g. P-6, floor sink) are sized by the fixtures (and HVAC equipment) that drain into them, not a nominal value of 2 fixture units. Revise the gravity grease interceptor sizing calculation accordingly. Reference: Table 7-3, footnote 1, UPC 2006. (Note that the capacity of the 2,500-gallon gravity grease interceptor may be limited to 216 fixture units unless a 6-inch grease waste drain is connected to it.) 5. Provide information to show that the proposed CSST - carbon steel piping system has been sized to limit the pressure drop of the natural gas to no more than 0.5" WC from the gas meter to any point in the gas distribution system when full demand is being supplied to all outlets. Reference: Section 1217.3, UPC 2006. 6. Show how the caulk used to seal the conduit penetrations of the CSST gas tubing will be leak tested. Reference: Sections 1211.1.6 and 1214.10, UPC 2006. |
11/22/2010 | ROBERT SHERRY | WATER | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide a site utility plan showing the location of the water meter and the reduced pressure backflow assembly on the drawings. Reference: COT Backflow Prevention Ordinance, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/water/docs/backflow-ord.pdf 2. Provide the size of the existing water meter and the total connected water demand that will result from the addition of this activity. Show that the addition of this activity will not cause the existing system to be overloaded. Reference: Sections 101.5.1, 610.1, and 610.2, UPC 2006. |

11/24/2010 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Revise the size of the grease ducts for hoods 1-8 to provide a minimum velocity of 1500 feet per minute. Reference: Section 506.3.4, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 2. Clarify the make-up air supply flow for hoods 1-8; the shop drawings call for a 2-speed fan operating at 1080 CFM (low) and 1620 CFM (high) but the fan is scheduled for 2160 CFM (sheet M4) as are the make-up air ducts. 3. Revise the structural calculations and details to show that the Type I and Type II hood is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2006 (including the weight of a person working on the hood). Detail 8/S2.1 does not appear to reflect the structural arrangement of this building. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2006. |
