| 01/26/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Comment not resolved; the civil drawing (2 of 4) is unchanged and the calculations on P-4 are unchanged. [Coordinate the size of the water meter serving the building; the civil drawings indicate a 1-1/2" meter compared to the 1" meter referenced on the plumbing plans. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.] 2. Comment not resolved; no dimensions are shown for the overflow scuppers and the 6" wide primary scuppers do not meet code requirements. [Provide size information for the roof scuppers, downspouts, and overflow scuppers (referenced detail 8/A-9 is not shown). Reference: Section 1101.11, UPC 2006.] 3. Comment not resolved. Compare the building floor plans as shown on drawings M-1, P-1, and P-2 with the floor plan on sheet A-1. [Coordinate with the architectural drawings. The architectural backgrounds are different (A-1), the water heater does not need a flue (A-4), and the "optional floor drain" (3/A-3) is not on the plumbing sheets. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.] |
| 01/27/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | Comment not resolved. The calculations do not appear to match the proposed building. The gross areas of the building and the exterior walls are not as shown on the drawings. The wall sections call out the R-value of the cavity insulation only for the restroom walls and at other locations call for, "Insulation per local energy codes". Several different wall sections are shown on sheets A-7 and A-8 and continuous wall insulation, of unknown R-value, appears to be located in some areas of the walls, if at all. The minimum R-value for the roof insulation is not called out. The required U-values and SHGC-values for the glazing are not noted on the drawings. [Provide energy code compliance calculations (using Pima County < 4,000 feet). Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006.] |
