09/10/2010 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | Note: this submittal is a new plumbing design by a different Arizona Registrant; the previous comments are no longer applicable. 1. The date the documents were sealed shall be included on the registrant's seal along with the registrant's signature. Reference: Arizona Revised Statutes 32-125, Board of Technical Registration Rules R4-30-304. 2. Sheet M3.1 (plumbing plan) includes references to the IPC, IRC and to the UPC. The applicable code for all commercial plumbing projects is the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code with Local Amendments. Provide an approved appeal to the building official if the activity is to be reviewed to the 2006 IPC; the use of the IRC will not be allowed for this activity. 3. The maximum flow rates for plumbing fixtures shall be consistent with ARS Title 45, Chapter 1, Article 12. (See text at: http://www.azleg.state.az.us/ArizonaRevisedStatutes.asp). The maximum flow rates noted on sheet M3.1 are incorrect for plumbing fixtures used in commercial construction. Reference: Section 402.1, UPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 4. Revise the General Plumbing Notes and the Plumbing Specifications shown on sheet M3.1 to apply to this activity. Resolve the conflicts with the specifications shown on sheets M0.1, M0.2, M0.3, and M0.4. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 5. Verify that the plumbing fixture specifications shown on sheet M9.2 are correct. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 6. Coordinate the plumbing plan with the architectural floor plan. Refrence: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 7. Coordinate the water distribution system shown on sheet M3.1 with the water riser diagram shown on sheet M8.2. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 8. Coordinate the drain waste and vent diagram shown on sheet M8.1 with the plumbing plan shown on sheet M3.1. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 9. If Section 610.4 is being used as the basis for determining the size of the water distribution piping, provide new water pressure and water pipe sizing calculations. If PEX tubing is being used in conjunction with copper tubing, provide separate sizing calculations for that material based on the manufacturer's sizing criteria but with a maximum water velocity of 8 FPS. Reference: Section 610.0, UPC 2006. 10. Revise the vertical wet vents shown on sheet M8.1 so that the upper fixtures are limited to 1- and 2-fixture unit fixtures only. Reference: Section 908.1, UPC 2006. |
