Note that this code section also requires that fixtures on floor levels above the first floor elevation shall not discharge through the backwater valve. It is not clear from the drawing if the building sewer that exits the building between columns 1.5 and 1.9 also needs a backwater valve; determine the rim elevation of the manhole upstream from that sewer connection. 2.
