2. The applicable code for all commercial plumbing projects is the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code with Local Amendments. The water calculations on sheet P-6 state that they are based on "Appendix A of the 6 IPC" but they appear to be from Appendix A of the UPC. Provide an approved appeal to the building official if the plans are to be reviewed to the 2006 IPC.
3. Provide the minimum plumbing facilities (e.g. a drinking fountain) required by Table 2902.1 and Section 2902.2, IBC 2006, for a business occupancy. See also Section 1109.5, IBC 2006.
4. Provide a copy of the approved drawings for the shell package of the building to establish the existing conditions of the tenant space and the shared plumbing systems (e.g. are the two restrooms new or existing) Reference: Sections 106.1 and 106.3, IBC 2006.
5. Provide a design for the installation of the water heaters along with structural calculations to show that the water heaters are safely supported. Reference: Sections 310.0 and 314.5, UPC 2006.
6. Provide reference specifications and listing information for the lint interceptor, LT-1. Reference: Sections 103.2.3 and 1012.1, UPC 2006.
7. Provide calculations to show that the expansion tank, ET-1 is adequate for the proposed hot water system. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
8. Coordinate the water heating portion of the hot and cold water isometric with the hot water heater piping diagram on sheet P-4. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
9. Show how the temperature of the hot water supply to the public lavatories is controlled. Reference: Section 413.1, UPC 2006 and Section 504.3, IECC 2006.
10. Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks require cleanouts regardless of length); see FS-1 and MS-1. Reference: Section 707.4, UPC 2006.
11. Revise note 2 for the gas isometric detail and the regulator schedule (GR-2) on sheet P-5 to coordinate with the scheduled gas inputs for the water heaters.
12. Size natural gas pipe per Section 1217.1, UPC 2006 or provide calculations demonstrating conformance to Section 1217.3, UPC 2006. The low-pressure piping to the two water heaters appears to be undersized and the medium-pressure gas main (3202 CFH) also appears to be undersized.
07/12/2010 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Denied Tucson Water limits a 2" meter to a maximum demand of 80 GPM. Provide a letter from Tucson Water confirming that the use of a 2" water meter will be allowed for this project (423 fixture units equates to a demand of 109 GPM).
