07/06/2010 DAVE MANN FIRE REVIEW Denied Please include the following fire sprinkler design criteria to the plans.
1. Flow data (static pressure, residual pressure, GPM)
Available from the Fire Department (520) 837-7029 or 837-7030.
2. The standard to be used in development of sprinkler system. (NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, or NFPA 13D)
3. The hazard classification of the building, including any special hazards.
4. The density required of the water supply.

Please indicate existing and proposed fire hydrant location(s), with dimensions to buildings and/or property lines. Refer to City of Tucson amendments to the 2006 International Fire Code (section 508) for spacing and location requirements.

07/13/2010 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Clarify which plumbing code is being used; the architectural code analysis sheet indicates the 2006 UPC but sheet G1.0 specifies the 2006 IPC. Provide an approved appeal to the building official if the plans are to be reviewed to the 2006 IPC. This submittal has been reviewed using the 2006 UPC.
2. Revise the site plan to show the size of the building sewers per note on sheet P1.0. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
3. Clarify the how the submitted water pressure calculations are coordinated with the note on the plumbing plan (P1.0) that calls for a "PRV set at 70 PSI".
4. Reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies are required after the municipal water meter for apartment buildings that multiple water meters connected together. Revise the water pressure calculations as needed. Reference: COT Backflow Prevention Ordinance, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/water/docs/backflow-ord.pdf
5. Substitution of alternate piping materials (e.g. PEX instead of copper piping as noted in specification section 15410; 2.05 (D)) will require a revision of the water pipe sizing calculations to match the revised piping materials. Reference: Sections 103.2.3 and 610.0, UPC 2006.
6. Provide the minimum size for the proposed PEX manifolds. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
07/13/2010 RONALD BROWN BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide fire partitions between units as required by 2006 IBC, Section 708.3, Exception 2
2. Provide Special Inspectors Certificates for special inspections as outlined on sheet S1.1.
3. Please provide occupancy load calculations and add to the Code Analysis Data form.

07/13/2010 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Denied 1. Reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies are required after the municipal water meter for apartment buildings that multiple water meters connected together. Reference: COT Backflow Prevention Ordinance, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/water/docs/backflow-ord.pdf
2. The enlarged site plan (A1.1) does not indicate the number of buildings served by the existing 1" water meter or the total demand on the meter. Tucson Water allows the use of a single meter to serve multiple residential buildings in a complex but requires the meter to be large enough to accommodate all the fixture units in the buildings served. Provide a letter from Tucson Water confirming that the use of a 1" water meter will be allowed for this project. Reference: Sections 610.2 and 610.12, UPC 2006.
07/13/2010 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide energy code compliance calculations. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006.
2. Show how the fan coils are being connected to the building structure and provide calculations to show that the building structure is not being adversely affected. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2006.
3. Specify the minimum resistance (R-value) of the duct insulation to be used on this project. Reference: Section 503.2.7, IECC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson.
