06/10/2010 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Submittal of the plans to the Pima County Health Department is required prior to approval from the City of Tucson.
2. This restaurant is assembly occupancy (A2); revise the fixture units for the water closets to reflect assembly occupancy per Tables 7-3 and A-2, UPC 2006.
3. Clarify the description of the water closets; per the plumbing fixture schedule they are supplied with 1-1/2" water supplies but key note 14 shows ¾" supplies. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
4. The branch piping sizes called out for the urinal flush valve will result in a water velocity greater than 8 FPS. Limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for the copper piping. Reference: Sections 610.12 and A 6.1, UPC 2006 and IS 3-2003, Section 2.6.
5. Provide a direct waste connection for the wash and rinse sections of the 3-compartment sink, with an indirect connection for the sanitizing compartment only. Reference: Sections 304.0, 704.3, and 801.2.3, UPC 2006.
6. Clarify the use of the 4-compartment sink. Indirect connections shall be used for compartments in direct contact with ready-to-eat food, compartments used for food preparation, or sanitizing compartments for utensils only. Reference: Sections 304.0 and 801.2.3, UPC 2006.

9. Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes (for both the sanitary waste and the grease waste) exceeding 5 feet in length. Horizontal drain lines serving sinks and urinals require cleanouts regardless of length. Reference: Sections 707.4 and 707.11, UPC 2006.
10. Revise the sizing of the gravity grease interceptor per Section 1014.3.6.1, UPC 2006; gravity grease interceptors are rated by their volume, not holding capacity in pounds.
