| 06/02/2010 | LOREN MAKUS | ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Denied | The proposed retention/detention basins don't meet the design guidelines in the detention/retention manual. The design guidelines limit the use of retaining walls to 30 percent of the basin perimeter. The basin must be provided with access to the interior of the basin for maintenance. And a maintenance plan is required for the basin and for the pump. Since the difference between the un-detained developed discharged and the pre-developed discharge is less than 1 cfs at the 100-year event, enhanced water harvesting would suffice for the detention requirements. Since there is a substantial storm drain system within 44th Street, the effect on the regional watershed will be minimal. The Land Use Code 3.7.4.3.A requires all retention and detention basins not integrated with parking areas to be landscaped and designed in conformance with the design guidelines in the detention/retention manual. |
