The use of a SHGC of 0.40 requires a minimum projection factor of 0.5. The projection factor is defined as the length of the overhang from the plane of the window divided by the distance of the overhang to the sill of the window. Only one of the new windows appears to meet that criterion. Show that the new addition complies with the energy code requirements for Pima County < 4,000 feet. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006. 2. The submitted ventilation calculations, based on ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004 are incomplete. You have used the default occupant density to determine the number of occupants for education, classroom (ages 5 - 8) and found the required ventilation per person but you did not include the required ventilation for the room area (see Table 6-1, Area Outdoor Air Rate, Ra). |
