RESUBMITTAL OF THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED:
02/26/2010 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum of 3/32-inch (all upper case). Reference: Section 106.1.1, IBC 2006.
2. Provide energy code compliance calculations using the correct climate zone for Pima County < 4,000 feet. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006.
3. Clarify location of the exhaust termination for the hose reel exhaust fans with regard to the building openings and air intake openings. Reference: Sections 401.4.1 and 501.2, IMC 2006.
4. Provide a copy of the design calculations used to determine the exhaust rate for the CNG purge system. Reference: Section 502.16.1, IMC 2006.
5. Identify the location of the air inlets for the CNG purge system. Clarify how the location of the exhaust outlets complies with the requirements of Section 502.16.1, IMC 2006 to be located at the high point of the room and to achieve uniform air movement during purging operation. This applies to both the Phase II portion of the building and the Phase III section of the building. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IMC 2006.
6. Clarify the location depicted on sheet PP1.6.2. Modifications to other buildings will require separate activity numbers. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IMC 2006.
02/26/2010 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Coordinate the numbering of the plumbing sheets (e.g. sheet P1.5.1 EXW refers to a continuation on sheet P1.5.01EW which doesn't appear in the drawing set and the continuation is actually shown on P1.5.1 EXE). Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
2. Complete the natural gas piping design, showing the developed lengths of the piping for both the medium pressure and the low pressure segments. Coordinate the piping plan with the schematic drawing and show the locations of all the pressure regulators. Reference: Sections 103.2.3 and 1217.0, UPC 2006.
3. Clarify the natural gas loads to design the system: the equipment loads shown on the drawings are different from the loads shown in the specifications and the intermediate loads shown on the piping drawings don't appear to correlate with either.
4. The natural gas schedule shown on sheet P0.01 indicates the total load for the building but sheet P1.5.1 EXW shows the new 2-1/2" NG line connecting to an existing 4" NG line. Where is the gas meter located, what is the new total load on the meter, and what developed length was used to size the 4" NG line? Reference: Sections 1202.0 and 1209.4, UPC 2006.
5. Revise the water pressure calculations to include the minimum residual water pressure. Note that the specified tankless water heater requires a minimum residual pressure of 25 PSI and the specified emergency shower requires a minimum pressure of 30 PSI to operate properly. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 610.1, UPC 2006.
6. Revise the water pressure calculations to include the demand from HVAC equipment and shop equipment. Reference: Section 610.1, UPC 2006.
7. The branch piping sizes called out for the flush valves (P-1 and P-2) will result in water velocities greater than 8 FPS. Limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for the copper piping. Reference: Sections 610.1 and A 6.1, UPC 2006 and IS 3-2003, Section 2.6.
8. Provide cleanouts for the upper terminals of the building drain and its horizontal branches that exceed 5'-0" in length or serve sinks. Reference: Section 707.4, UPC 2006.
9. Provide a description of CP-1 and show how it complies with the requirements of Section 805.0, UPC 2006.
10. Clarify the intent of the waste piping labeled "W.P." as shown on sheets P1.5.1W, P1.5.1E, P5.01, and CU101. Coordinate the design and, if it is conveying oily or flammable wastes, provide a design for an appropriate interceptor.
11. The 3" W.P. OIL piping shown on sheet P5.01 indicates the presence of floor cleanouts. Show the location of these cleanouts on sheets P1.5.1W and P1.5.1E. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
12. Provide roof drainage calculations and plans. Provide overflow protection for the roof. Reference: Sections 1101.11 and 1106.0, UPC 2006.
13. Provide sizing information for the roof scuppers, the overflow openings for the conductor heads, and the downspouts for those that must be increased from the 4"x 4" size noted on sheet A8.5.1. Reference: Section 1101.11, UPC 2006.
14. Provide a cleanout at the base of each roof drain leader prior to its connection with the horizontal storm drain. Reference: Section 1101.12.2, UPC 2006.
15. Revise the termination of the primary rainwater leader so that they don't cross over any sidewalks. Reference: Section 4.4 F, City of Tucson Development Standard No. 3-01.0.
16. Include the column labels on the roof plans. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
