03/25/2010 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Description not found in this submittal. Provide a description for the plumbing fixture called out as P-11 on sheets P1.1.1, P1.1.2, and P2.01. Reference: Sections 103.2.3 and 401.1, UPC 2006. 2. Comment not resolved; S-3 is shown in room 202 on sheet P1.1.2 but the riser diagram on sheet P2.01 calls out S-2 in that location. Coordinate the plumbing fixtures called out on the riser diagram and waste diagram with the plumbing floor plans. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 3. An Appeal to the Building Official is applied on a case-by-case basis: submit an appeal for this activity. Water-free urinals are not Code-compliant fixtures per the 2006 UPC. Submit an appeal to the Building Official requesting approval to utilize a water-free urinal based on the International Plumbing Code. Reference: Sections 211.0 (insanitary), 301.2, 405.2, 409.0, 601.1, and 1005.0, UPC 2006. 4. Comment not resolved; show how the water heater platform is to be attached to the wall-type used with this activity. Show how the mounting shelf for the water heater is attached to the building structure. Reference: Sections 310.0 and 314.5, UPC 2006. 5. Comment not resolved; provide a vacuum relief for the water heater. Revise the detail of the storage-type water heater installation to include the expansion tank and vacuum relief valve. Reference: Sections 103.2.3, 608.3, and 608.7 UPC 2006. 6. Comment not resolved; provide an upper terminal cleanout for FS-1 in room 108. Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks and urinals require cleanouts regardless of length). Reference: Section 707.4, UPC 2006. 7. The stack diagram shown on sheet P2.01 appears to show condensate from an air conditioner being pumped directly into a sanitary waste line (CP-1 is not identified). Clarify how this complies with Sections 814.2 and 814.3, UPC 2006. |
03/29/2010 | RAY MAJUTA | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | Project: 3910 N Sun Tran Bl T10CM00251 Administration Bldg The Electrical Plans have been denied for the following: 1. Two Outdoor Lighting Load Calculations have been submitted, one on Sheet E1.1 which shows the existing calculation for the site using Option 2, this calculation is wrong, The 47 --- 70 watt MH fixtures shown at 45,000 lumens should be 4,500 lumens. This would total 211,500 lumens. Next the total lumen count shown is 1,209,900 lumens, the correct total should be 1,399,900 lumens.Need to correct both. 2. The new Outdoor Lighting Load Calculation shown for the new additions now shows Option 3 being used, only one option can be used per total site. 3. Once items 1 and 2 above corrected, please show them both on Sheet E 1.1. 4. Item # 5 on Responce Sheet for the Administrative Building indicates " Elevator panel/equipment is located on Sheet E2.1.3, and located in Elavator Room 132," have reviewed all sets of plans and cannot find this Sheet in the plans. Provide response and resubmit. Ray.Majuta@tucsonaz.gov PDSD, City of Tucson, 3/29/10 Elect Plan Ck |
04/06/2010 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Comment not resolved; insufficient and contradictory detail has been provided on the drawings which prevents comparison of the energy calculations and the proposed building. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006. 2. Comment not resolved; the note was not changed on the drawing. Clarify the note on details 2 and 4 on sheet M2.1.4, "LOCATE AAV ON SUPPLY/RETURN PIPE TO DRAIN". Reference: Section 106.3.1, IMC 2006. 3. Comment not resolved; the size of the condensate drains was not changed on the drawing. Revise the size of the condensate drains for AH 1-1 and AH 1-2 in accordance with Section 307.2.1, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 4. Comment not resolved; the reply to the comment indicated that the calculations on sheet M5.1.4 were corrected but sheet M5.1.4 is blank. Section 403.3, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson allows the use of the ASHRAE 62-1-2004 ventilation calculation procedure provided that the default occupant densities and combined outdoor air rates are used. 5. Comment not resolved; no fire damper is noted on the return grille. Terminal unit 1TU29 is shown supplying the elevator equipment room through a 1-hour fire damper. Why is the return not equipped with a fire damper? Reference: Section 3006.4, IBC 2006. 6. Comment not resolved; how is a reheat coil justified for a cooling-only room? Clarify how the temperature is to be controlled in the elevator equipment room. An independent split-system fan coil is providing approximately 1-ton of air conditioning and terminal unit 1TU29 is also supplying 120 - 425 CFM of air conditioning. Only one thermostat is shown in the room and the terminal unit is equipped with a 1 KW reheat coil. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IMC 2006 and Sections 503.2.2 and 503.2, IECC 2006. |
