04/23/2010 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Approved
04/26/2010 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide a vacuum relief for WH-4. Reference: Section 608.7, UPC 2006.
2. Comment not resolved; each piece of equipment requiring backflow protection shall be independently protected. Appliances (e.g. ice makers) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Table 6-3, UPC 2006 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection on the drawings. Reference: Sections 602.3, 603.0 (with local amendments), and Table 6-2, UPC 2006.
3. The floor drain FD-1, located near column C.5-2.5, appears to have a trap arm that exceeds the allowable length. Revise the trap arm length per Section 1002.2, UPC 2006.
04/26/2010 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Comment not resolved. Revise the energy code analysis, using the correct climate zone (Pima County < 4,000 feet, not the town of Pima, Arizona). Revise the building design as required to meet the code requirements. Reference: Section 302.2, IECC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson.
2. Comment not resolved. The roof is shown as having continuous insulation of R-19, not the R-30 shown on the calculations and no indication of the R-value for the exterior walls is shown on the drawings. Revise the energy code analysis, coordinating the building components used in the analysis with those shown on the drawing. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Section 502, IECC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson.
3. Comment not addressed. Ventilation refers to the amount of outside air introduced into the building, not the air pressure balance. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation. See Section 403, IMC 2006 for information on the calculations required. Reference: Section 401.2, IMC 2006.
