12/11/2009 | RICHARD LEIGH | DOT ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Denied | December 9, 2009 SUBJECT: Blue Sky Subdivision, Public Improvements, PIA T09PI0025 PROJECT REVIEWER: Richard Leigh, DOT, Permits and Codes Section RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: Permits and Codes Section has reviewed the PIA Plan and does not recommend approval of the PIA Plan at this time. The following comments need to be addressed in the next submittal. 1. Include the plan number "I-2009-038" in the title block of each sheet. 2. Include Development Services Department PIA activity number "T09PI00025"on cover sheet. 3. Include Maps and Plats, Book and Page of the subdivision on cover sheet. 4. Indicate Floodplain Use Permit on cover sheet. 5. Use COT standard north arrow in drawing. 6. Title block information should be identical except for sheet number. Extraneous labeling such as details of sheet or the street name may be labeled above title block. 7. Provide sheet to sheet match lines. 8. Centerline stationing shall run either from South to North or from West to East and read from left to right on the plan sheet. 9. Delineate and label all easements and dedications. 10. Lateral sidewalk transitions shall not be sharper than three longitudinal to one lateral per D.S. 3-01.3.3. 11. Provide vertical curves when the algebraic difference between the incoming and outgoing roadway grade is greater than 1 %. The minimum permitted length of a vertical curve is 100 feet. 12. Include complete details for all improvements within the Old Nebraska Wash. Improvements must be designed to withstand flows within the Old Nebraska Wash during a 100yr event. Provide all hydraulic calculations for sizing structures. 13. Public storm drains shall be reinforced concrete pipe or an approved equivalent. HDPE pipe is not an approved equivalent. 14. Setbacks from cut and fill slopes must comply with Development Standard 11-01.9.0. Note required setbacks from property boundary in cross sections and plan views. Additionally, barricade railing must be provided along any slope steeper than 4:1 and higher than two (2) feet. 15. Provide 100yr hydraulic capacity analysis for the roadways. The 100yr event must be contained within the public right-of-way. 16. Provide a hydraulic analysis for sizing the proposed catch basins (10yr & 100yr). 17. The culvert analysis for the proposed catch basin pipes along the curb knuckle conflict with the proposed design. The analysis provided is for a 30" pipe while the plans propose an 18" pipe, please clarify. 18. Flows from a 10yr event must be conveyed underneath the sidewalk per D.S. 3-01-4.4.F. It appears that the proposed catch basins will not be able to efficiently capture 100% of the 10yr event at the developed concentration point CP-2. Provide a design that will comply to the City of Tucson Development Standards. Refer to redline plans for additional comments and comment details.
