Plan review for the above referenced structure has been completed. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken.

SCOPE OF REVIEW:
The scope of this plan review includes architectural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and energy conservation. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2006 International Residential Code with local amendments. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Provide two copies of the corrected set of drawings (no clouds or revision numbers please) along with a set of the first submission (cloud corrections on this set please). All corrections and revisions shall be made on original tracings or finished reproducible set. Pen or pencil corrections on final prints will not be acceptable. To avoid delays, ensure that all corrections have been made, are complete, and have been coordinated on all applicable detail and note sheets.

FLOOR PLAN:
2. Doors between a garage and a residence shall be self-closing minimum 20-minute fire-rated, R309.1 as amended.

STRUCTURAL / FRAMING PLAN:
3. Justify the ridge beam size for RB3, R801.2.
4. Specify the header or lintel size for the kitchen door opening to support the proposed load, R801.2.

SECTIONS - DETAILS:
5. Specify wall and ceiling covering. Note: Ceiling gypsum board must be either 5/8" or ½" sag resistant when applied to ceilings framed at 24" o/c, IRC table R702.3.5 footnote d.

PLUMBING PLAN:
6. Provide a gas line isometric and size the supply pipe for the proposed gas furnace. Include the length of line and BTU demand for each appliance, size of each branch, total demand, and total developed length from meter to the most remote appliance on the system, UPC 1217.0 Table 12-8.
7. Provide the OG-300 certification for the proposed solar water heater and the manufacturer's cut sheets for the intended equipment.
8. Specify the location of the roof-mounted solar water heating collector, R801.2.

MECHANICAL PLAN:
9. Show supply and return air ducts with a minimum R-8 insulation when located outside the thermal envelope, R1103.2.1.
10. Show dryer vent size and location for venting to exterior (max 25' w/bend reductions), M1502.2, M1502.6.
11. Provide location of return air ducts and register sizes, M1602. Minimum duct/register size: heat pump or air conditioner - 6 sq. in. / 1000 BTU, M1403.1 (1 ton cooling = 12,000 BTU).

ELECTRICAL PLAN:
12. Tucson Electric Power requires a 2½" diameter conduit for service entrance conductors, TEP SR-305.
13. Laundry rooms require at least one 20-amp circuit that shall serve no other outlets, E3603.3, 3801.8.
14. Bedroom outlets shall be protected with combination-type arc-fault breakers (receptacles, lights, and smoke detectors), E3802.12.
15. All smoke detectors must be interconnected with a power source from the building wiring, and shall be equipped with battery backup, R313.
