It is understood that this project will consist of removing and replacing tanks and reconstructing the pads and adjacent grades with elevated berms for containment of fuel if breach in the tanks were to occur. Planning & Development Services Department PDSD Engineering has reviewed the received items and does not recommend approval of the site plan without addressing the following conditions. SITE PLAN COMMENTS: 1) DS Sec.11-01.4.1.C / 2-02.2.1.A.17, Tucson Code 26-8(a)(2)b: To clarify grading and to assure no adverse impact to downstream watershed, the following comments need to be addressed: a) Sheet SS101 has an undecipherable scale; provide engineering scale for a grading plan sheet. Confirm that containment areas for basins provide sufficient fuel volume in these berm areas to contain any potential breach. b) DS Sec.2-02.2.1.A.5: Provide local benchmark as basis of elevation on sheet SS101 is too far from project site. Show on a planview sheet on one of the civil sheets. c) Clarify grading on sheet SS101 to show how fuel containment area is constructed and construction access to site. d) Delineate Grading limits on planview, and provide grading disturbance limit line in a civil sheet legend. Assure sufficient area is provided around perimeter of berms to accommodate construction vehicular access. e) Provide total disturbance area in square feet. f) Provide estimated cut and fill quantities on civil grading plan or civil cover sheet. g) Provide registrant sealed and signed grading plan. h) Add note to grading plan that an as-built revised grading plan with closure completion documentation must be submitted prior to final PDSD Engineering Inspection approval. i) Submit 2 copies of Geotechnical / Soils Reports which addresses compaction of berms. 2) Tucson Code Chap.26 Art.2: Submit 2 sets of SWPPP report and plan sheets for review & approval.
