11/13/2009 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | Note: the submitted drawings appear to be unchanged since the last submittal. 1. Revise the ASHRAE ventilation calculations to include an air-distribution effectiveness (Ez) value of 0.8 (ceiling supply, ceiling return, warm air greater than 15 degrees Fahrenheit above space temperature). Reference: Section 6.2.2.2 and Table 6-2, ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004. 2. The use of ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004 for ventilation calculations for multiple-zone systems requires the use of the calculations covered by Section 6.2.5, ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004 to determine the design outdoor air intake. 3. Section 508.1, IMC 2006 requires that the amount of make up air shall be approximately equal to the amount of air being exhausted. F-3, which serves the kitchen, is rebalanced to provide 400 CFM of outside air. Which fan coils are electrically interlocked to the grease exhaust fan? Reference: Sections 403.3 and 508.0, IMC 2006. |
11/13/2009 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | Note: the submitted drawings appear to be unchanged since the last submittal. 1. Correct the size of the flue for F-3, the manifold flue for F-3, F-4, and F-5, and the common vertical flue. Reference: Section 510.10, UPC 2006. 2. Comment not resolved. Each section of roof drains to a discrete gutter or scupper. Provide roof drainage calculations that match the roof design. The notes on the drawing appear to be drawn from an old code; use the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code. All roof areas shall be drained by roof drains, scuppers, or gutters. Reference: Section 1101.11.1, UPC 2006. 3. Comment cannot be resolved with out the complete calculations but a 4" wide scupper does not meet the minimum required scupper width for any roof area. Revise the size of the scuppers to comply with the requirements of Sections 1101.11.2.1 and 1106.4, UPC 2006. 4. Comment cannot be resolved with out the complete calculations but the minimum opening height for a scupper is 4" that would be in addition to the 2" dam height. Provide calculations to show that the size of the overflow in the roof drain collector box has a drainage capacity equal to that of the scupper. Reference: Section 1101.11.2.2.1, UPC 2006. |

Zoning has reviewed the building plans but cannot approve them at this time. While it appears that the building plans floor plan is similar to the site plan layout it cannot be verified that the building dimensions match the building plan dimensions. Zoning will re-review and if possible approve the building plans on the next submittal provided the information requested is on the site plan and the site plan is approved and stamped by all reviewing agencies. 4.
