Clarify the plumbing notes on sheet P-1 showing type "K" below slab, and type "L" above grade, with the general notes on sheet P-2 which shows type "L" below slab, and type "M" above grade. 5. Sheet P-1 shows vents may be No-Hub, sch.40 PVC, or sch.40 ABS. Sheet P-2 shows vents to be sch.40 PVC. Clarify materials to be used. 6. Clarify how the storm water draining from the new scuppers on the south side of the suite is to be diverted away from the building foundations. Reference: 103.2.3, UPC 2006 and Section 1803.3, IBC 2006. 7. The western scupper of this suite is shown as handling approximately 148 square feet of roof along with 655 square feet of contributing roof area for a total of 803 square feet. Based on this effective roof area, a 3" roof drain is required by Table 1-1, UPC 2006. The minimum required scupper width will be approximately 9.4", not 8" as specified on sheet S-2. Reference: Section 1101.11.2.1, UPC 2006. 8. The point of use water heater cut sheet provided with the drawings (Ariston Electric Point-of-Use Mini-Tank) requires a temperature and pressure relief, expansion tank, and shut-off valves. Provide a detail of the water heater installation. Reference: Sections 103.2.3, 605.5, 608.3, and 608.7 UPC 2006. 9. Provide information to show how the outlet temperature of the hot water is to be limited to 110 degrees at the lavatory. Reference: Section 413.1, UPC 2006 and Section 504.3, IECC 2006. 10. The specified lavatory faucets are designed for a flow rate of 2.2 GPM. According to ARS Title 45, Chapter 1, Article 12, the maximum flow rate for lavatory faucets shall be no more than an average of one-half gallon of water per minute at a pressure of eighty PSI or they shall be equipped with a mechanism that causes the faucet to close automatically after delivering no more than one-fourth gallon of water. Reference: Section 402.1, UPC 2003, as amended by the State of Arizona. |
