07/20/2009 RICK MYERS PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. See sheet MP-01 Plumbing Plan: a. A two-way cleanout fitting may be installed where the building drain connects to the building sewer. All other locations require a directional cleanout. Reference section 707.4 exception #4 and 707.6 2006 UPC. 2. Sheet MP-01 detail "B": a. At water closet: Where a vent connects to a horizontal drain it shall have its invert taken off above the drainage centerline, downstream of the trap being served. Note: If you use an upper terminal cleanout, it shall be full size. 3. Sheet MP-01 detail "B" At floor drain: Horizontal venting below the flood rim shall be limited to structural conditions. A partition within the trap arm distance allows the floor drain to be vented coventionally. Reference 905.2 and 905.3 2006 UPC: Vent Pipe Grades and Connections. 4. Sheet MP-01 Plumbing Plan. Show how the floor is to be sloped to the drains. Reference 411.4 2006 UPC. 5. Show the cleanouts on the isometric drawings for the drinking fountains. Any branch over five feet in length from the main requires cleanouts. Reference 707.4 exception one 2006 UPC. Label all of the cleanouts with the correct size. 6. Sheet MP-01 Fixture Unit Schedule: Reference table 7-3 2006 UPC. Water closet flush valves discharge 6 DFUs. Also revise the plumbing water isometric: The plan shows 1/2" water being distributed to the flush valves. 7. Revise the Fixture Unit Schedule: Drinking Fountains on Table 7-3 2006 UPC equal .5 DFUs (per head) 8. With two DFUs added for the extra drinking fountain heads, and eight DFUs added to the water closets, the total DFUs equal fifty-two. 9. Provide Plumbing Notes. They are to include piping material types, the method of sterilization, and any 2006 IECC requirements for pipe insulation. 10. Include the type of water heater in the Plumbing Fixture Schedule. If a temperature and pressure relief valve is required, where is it to be drained? 11. Required Roof Drains. Show how the scuppers are to be installed on a flat roof. Show size and locations of gutters.
