07/08/2009 | RICK MYERS | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Detail one on sheet 2.1 shows the vent for the three compartment sink being in between the flow control vent and the grease trap. Reference 1014.2.1 2006 UPC: The vented flow control device shall be located such that no system vent shall be between the flow control and the grease trap inlet. 2. Reference: 608.7 2006 UPC. Where a hot water storage tank or an indirect water heater is located at an elevation above the fixture outlet in the hot water system a vacuum relief valve shall be installed on the storage tank or heater. 3. Show how the kitchen plumbing complies with the requirements of Sections 411.2.2 and 704.3, UPC 2006 with respect to floor drains. |
07/15/2009 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Details 6/M2.1 and 5/A2.1 show different attachments for the hood support; Clarify which detail is to be used. Reference: Section 106.3.1 and 302.1, IMC 2006. 2. Verify the building structure will not be adversely affected by the location of the grease exhaust fan at a location other than shown on the architectural drawings. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2006. 3. The outdoor air calculation appears to be using the occupant densities for an "office" (kitchen & counter) and for a "restaurant dining room" (as compared to "cafeteria/fast food"). Provide justification for these choices, especially considering the higher occupancies used by the architect for exiting calculations. Reference: Sections 106.3.1 and 403.3, IMC 2006. 4. The use of ASHRAE 62.1-2004 for multiple-zone recirculating systems requires the use of the additional calculations included in Sections 6.2.51.through 6.2.5.4, ASHRAE 62.1-2004. 5. Show the location of the cleanouts for the vertical section of the grease duct. Reference: Section 506.3.8, IMC 2006. 6. Clarify how the vented roof curb and the fan assembly hinge kit noted in the exhaust fan schedule will be installed with the specified grease hood system. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IMC 2006. 7. Specify the required slope for the grease duct. Reference: Section 506.3.7, IMC 2006. 8. Revise the specifications for the grease duct fire wrap to conform to the requirements of Section 506.3.10, exception (1), IMC 2006. Note that neither NFPA 96-1998 nor ICBO ES Evaluation Report 5907 conforms to the requirements of the 2006 IMC. 9. Show that the make up air duct within 18" of the Type I exhaust hood complies with the requirements of Section 506.3.1.2, IMC 2006. |
