Reference: Sections 310.0 and 314.5, UPC 2006. 2. The letter from the mechanical engineer approves deletion of "all isolation valves and water hammer arrestors". Isolation valves are required before all appliances and water hammer arrestors are required to be installed as close as possible to quick-acting valves (e.g. clothes washer supplies).
