The architectural design for the mounting shelf for the water heater was not accompanied with structural calculations to show that the water heater is safely supported and does not indicate either the construction of the existing wall (metal or wood studs?) or the method of attaching the blocking to the existing studs. Reference: Sections 310.0 and 314.5, UPC 2006.
