| 03/13/2009 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | The note on sheet calls only for a "pressure switch". Booster pump systems can be equipped with several types of pressure switches such as an over-pressure switch, a pump-on pressure switch, a no-flow or pump-off pressure switch, or a low inlet pressure cut-off switch. The code only requires a low inlet pressure cut-off switch. Provide a low-pressure cutoff switch for the water pressure booster pump system. Reference: Section 609.8, UPC 2006. |
| 03/13/2009 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Any detail showing how to suspend equipment from the building structure shall be placed in the contract drawings for the activity; inclusion in the structural calculations book is insufficient. Also, the attachment method shown on the submitted sketch is unacceptable since it violates the listing of the I-joist manufacturer. Show how the fan-coil, FC-1, is to be connected to the building structure and provide calculations to show that the building structure is not being adversely affected. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2006. 2. Comment not resolved. Coordinate the mechanical roof plan with the architectural roof plan. The plans currently show interferences and encroachment of the required maintenance space for the mechanical units and the proposed photovoltaic panels. Reference: Sections 106.3.1 and 304.1, IMC 2006. 3. Sheet P1 indicates that the pumped condensate drain for FC-2 terminates at a lavatory tailpiece. Section 805.0, UPC 2006 prohibits the direct connection of pumped wastes. Route the pumped condensate to an indirect waste receptor. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IMC 2006 and Section 807.1, UPC 2006. 4. Show the locations of the existing fire dampers for the protection of the ducts and penetrations of fire resistive walls (e.g. the elevator equipment room). Confirm and indicate the fire rating of the fire dampers. Reference: Sections 607.3, and 607.5.2, IMC 2006. 5. Confirm the vertical penetrations of the floor/ceiling assemblies by the exhaust duct for EF-1 are protected; show how rated vertical shafts are terminated at the rated floor levels and or pass through floor levels Reference: Section 707.4, IBC 2006. 6. Show the locations for details 6 and 7 on sheet M7 on the drawings. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IMC 2006. |
